Expert German opponent wanted

Post by Tarhunnas »

I am looking for an expert German opponent for a 41-45 GC using the alternate VC campaign.

* Minimum 4 turns per week
* Always use latest beta
* We are in it for the duration! For various reasons all my previous GCs as the Sovet have ended well before mud. While I do realise that RL issues might interfere, I don't want another interrupted GC! I want to take Berlin! If you enter this one, you should be prepared to slug it out, whatever the situation! I will!

House rules (open for discussion):
* Max 3 airbase attacks per arbase/turn after the first turn.
* No HQ bombings.
* No Soviet landings west of the Crimea before 43 unless Sevastopol is Soviet held.

Preferably, you should be willing to feature in an AAR.

Prefer server game, but that might be discussed.

I would be intereted but there are a few things that I need to discuss with you.

1. I want a house rule that dissuades or prevents or has a ramification for runing away (Summer 41 for Soviet and Winter 41 for German).

2. Use of reserves limited to 2 units per HQ. Same for both sides.

3. I can not manage 4 turns a week. Probably 2 at best for the next few months, at least for the summer of 41.

4. non random weather.

5. At your option, a mirrored game under the same conditions after this one completes.

6. I need one week to develop a new opening as the new reg/brig rule has made all mine redundant.

No problem if these conditions don't suite. [:)]

FWIW I won't be playing German again without point 1 or 2.

Hi! I am expert player in WiTE for both side. But I play without house rule - that is no actual if you play as expert, only to enter disbalance. For example -
- Max 3 airbase attacks per arbase/turn after the first turn
You is very surprise me if I losses many aircraft on the ground. But for Germany - choice for heavy losses Soviet airforces.
Ets.
I play only PBEM (problem with russian keyboard), minimum 4 turns per week, always use latest beta, played to finish ( if the opponent not surrender), HG lock, ful FoW, the weather for you choice. If you accept I wait start file yakor32@yandex.ru
Good Luck!

@Michael T: Those conditions are OK with me.

I am not the running away type anyway, as I think my latest AAR will show, but I like that suggestion. PM me for suggestions to "anti-running-away-rule".

Forgot to say
* Full FOW
* Locked support.

Sounds interesting, but Michael T was first, so I'll give him precedence.

I wouldn't even take condition two playing the German. This is going to come back and haunt you come blizzard and 1943, Micheal. 2 Units per HQ isn't gonna cut it on defense. A single German division will break down into 3 units, and those guys are surprisingly tough for the Axis. I'd hate to be stuck with only two regiments per corps on reserve duty. (Using entire divisions for reserves as the Axis is imo less effective, at least in defensive actions, although they're great for offensive reserves.)

Am interested to see how you guys plan on enforcing no runaways, but Tarhunnas isn't a runner by nature anyhow.

With T's permission changing from any 2 units to 1 corp or 2 Divisions or 3 Reg/Brig per HQ.

No runaways and full Lvov pocketing? That will be interesting...

Why not make it any three units for simplicity? Divisions have a smaller chance of reacting anyway, and corps even less.

After some discussion we ended up with an honor pledge no to run away. AAR coming soon on a forum near you!
