I was just going to visit the harbour to see if anybody was there and there was a welcoming committee waiting for me there.

I'm going to have to sweep a bunch more before I do anymore of these expensive Sally raids.

I like thi idea of a AAR very much. Use maps and pictures to diagram out progress and then attach CR's for the details. Very creative IMHO Larry

Well thank you for the kind words. I do aim to please. I couldn't see posting something about each and every combat result detail but on the other hand there may be some people who are interested in, say, the air strikes, which is something I rarely post something about, mainly because the result rarely matters much. And I rarely post some combat result involving some action in China only because the picture(s) of China results don't look all that hot. It's hard to get some annotation that you can actually read over the top of the China terrain. And when I'm reading somebody else's AAR and I come to the part where they have posted the verbage of a combat result, forgive me you guys, I usually just scroll past it after getting the gist of it. I don't watch the combat animations either 'cause I'm more interested in the results of the contest and not the details of what actually happened. I'm probably not missing all that much I figure. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. Mike Solli gives a verbal overview of his combat results which I like very much, and I guess I could do something like that here.

You guys will let me know, won't you, if there's some kinds of detail you're not seeing that you think should be here, right?

I'm grabbing resources and oil from Hokkaido and pumping them into the port of Ominato where they get distributed to the other cities automatically. This is just a few of the TF's loading resources. After Hokkaido is sucked dry I guess I'll go to Port Arthur or somewhere to get them. I don't remember who clued me in on Hokkaido being a good source but I sure do appreciate it. Keep those good ideas coming you guys.

In your transport TF's loading at Hakodate I see a mix of xAK and xAKL in the same TF. By having a mix such as that, the xAKL's will load quickly, then sit idle the next turn while the xAK's finish loading. I use only one size transport in any resource (or supply) TF. The xAK TF's take 1 or 2 turns to load (I usually limit them to 5 ships), and the xAKL TF's load in one turn, even with 10 or more xAKL's in the TF.

Hey that's a good idea....thanks. I've been having to split off the loaded ships out of the TF into their own TF to send them on their way. But your way is easier and better overall. I'm going to have to start doing it your way.

Rob parked some PT boats on my landing hexes to disswade me from landing there I guess, but I'm sweeping them clear with my surface forces.

I bombarded Kota Bharu last night and got some good hits. There's been an awfully lot of Allied sub attacks. My convoy system isn't working right just yet. Rob has some DD's on the northern coast of Borneo to dissuade me from landing there. D'oh.

The Davao landings went horribly wrong. I forgot to say do not unload until just before the landing I guess......they all landed at the wrong spot.

I had an unintended air strike take place on Midway. Got some good licks in but I'll have to do it again when the Midway invasion takes place because he's going to get some replacements before I get around to invading at Midway.

Clearly, I've allowed my ships to venture too close to the bombers at Singers. I'm going to have to back off a bit.

Do Not Unload isn't the problem. Doing that for amphib landings has the potential to cause all sorts of grief if you forget to uncheck it at the right point in the transit.

Here, I think you sent the TF to the wrong hex. If its destination was Davao it wouldn't unload early even if Do Not Unload were unchecked. If you give it a coast destination before Davao it thinks you're serious and does as it's told.

Re-loading could take more time than marching. You might be able to get all the devices off the beach, but maybe not. Either way this is an educational opportunity. [:)]
