Well worth the wait....

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Well worth the wait....

Post by parmenio »

I finally got some free time to play my first scenario from the HTTR expansion for Command Ops (a number of aeons after I was expecting to buy it)

Joe's Bridge - marginal victory only - didn't commit enough forces north of the canal to get the "objective occupied" ratio for La Colonie. [:(] - a lesson learned for yours truly

I'm looking forward to working my way through the rest...

...also looking forward to the COTA expansion.

Surely that batch convert has finished by now Dave [:D]

I have successfully tested the conversion of one scenario and all is good. So yes the batch conversion should be OK. However, the scenario won'
t play through without crashing fairly early on. I have traced the issue down to changes to the MS VS 2010 development environment that are objecting to the way we use iterators in our data classes. I am tediously working my way through the issue. This involves running that one converted COTA scenario on our autotester until it identifies a fault with an iterator, then painstakingly stepping through the code till I can identify the cause and fixing it. Fun this process is not. But necessary it is. So please be patient.

Oh don't worry I wasn't seriously expecting it to go as smoothly as that.

MS VS2010 seems to have been an utter joy for you - I *still* haven't upgraded from VS2008 and I note VS2011 is available as a Beta download....

You may be pleased to hear that I have now had the game running for two days of Game time without error. There may still yet be some more instances of incompatible iterators but I think I've broken the back of it. [:)]
