Well, Mandrake, anyway you count it, the LYB's took a boot in the posterior. Just don't drink the captured saki....it saps essential bodily fluids, you know.

Darwin/Bathurst: Largely uneventful day. Air attacks are gounded again except for a small raid of Bettys over Bathurst which are driven off. Bathurst runway was at 67% yesterday. May be ready today. That will free up the carriers. The tranpsorts at Gove have been drained of their fuel. The Royal Navy SCTF had to go back to Horn Is.
Port Headrand: Hihgly effective ground attack raids. No Jap counterattack.
Changsha: The place has been bombarded 3x daily for 2 mos. I guess there are lots of rodents and shoe leather to eat because the defenders are not ready to give up.

That is a bias toward over-reporting that always creeps in when you start handing out medals...or, as in this case, annual bonuses are based on sinkings.

Techincally, we haven't captured anything yet...just closed a contract for Bathurst. Well, Dobo, I guess, but that is problematic as JJ took it back. oh wait, there was Saumlaki but there weren't any LYB's there either..just some Anglicans.

Good point. Thank you for taking the high ground in this AAR, Cap'n. I've always felt it was beneath you to use the clearly offensive tone of much of the [BRAAACK!!!]...oh bugger. 'Scuse. [:(]

RE: Hearts and Minds
Great picture of the area. I especially like how well it shows the big oil slick from sunken ships just off red beach.
Bathurst Island looks pretty rugged - you sure you can squeeze in a golf course there? If you put it between the runways I am cancelling my order for a condo with a golf course view!

Fr. O'Brien: Chief, I'm thinking eco-tourism with cultural atractions thrown in.
Chief Nb*a@chtw*(: What cultural attractions mean?
Fr. O'Brien: Ah, that means unique and interesting traditions held by the Tawi Tawi. Like the dance of the seven virgins, for example.
Chief Nb*a@chtw*(: Ah, we no have 7 virgins any more.
Fr. O'Brien: Darn it Chief! Haven't I warned you folks about pre-marital sex?
Chief Nb*a@chtw*(: That what you call Tawi Tawi cultural attraction.

That, sir, is no oil slick in the water south of Bathurst Island. It is, without doubt, the "mysterious object spotted underwater" so often reported by search pilots, and ridiculed, in turn, by the intel gnomes and geeks that never venture out in daylight. As can be seen, it shows clear characteristics of Flash Gordon's starship.

My God! Your mind is almost as warped as mine -- I love it!
You should consider putting your writing talent and unfettered imagination to work writing a book - something along the line of "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", but maybe set in SOPAC in the early 1940s ...

I agree---but maybe it's a really big Alienware Logo that fell off Mandrake's new computer?
