In the other empires screen, is there a limit of how many automatic empires you can have created? Before I got the beta patch I set it to 27 and it started giving me big errors.

You can have as many empires in your game as you have alien races, including yours...so if we have 30 races in a mod, then the empire limit is 29 + player = 30.
