RE: THE THREAD!!!
Watched Men in Black III tonight. It's not bad at all.
It was also my first experience with movie 3D. It didn't add anything to the film, but it turned out to be surprisingly easy to wear the 3D glasses over my real ones.

T-had you seen the first two? How would you compare them in terms of quality? I was a big fan of MIB and MIB2. The local rag referred to the third as "Meh in black", so you can tell what their take was.

If MIB is the baseline (we'll call it a 10) then MIB2 is a 3 and MIB3 is a 7. This latest one doesn't deserve the kicking that several reviewers have given it. Simple, funny, easily-followed story, good effects, a NASTY alien bad guy and good on-screen chemistry between Will Smith and Josh Brolin.

Not sure what you mean, Leo? It was "passive" 3D, but it's my understanding that most cinemas use some variation of this?

RE: THE THREAD!!!
Apparently they have two or three different such technologies and maybe they even require different types of glasses. I'm not conversant with them myself, but I suspect that given theaters always use the same one.ORIGINAL: Terminus

RE: THE THREAD!!!
Hi all,
The cinema systems are all passive but there are several different variants...
For example we had here in our MultiPlex cinemas over the years three distinctive systems:
#1
Dolby 3D (it was the first 3D we watched - the Avatar 3D)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolby_3D
#2
Real D 3D (it replaced Dolby 3D in our MultiPlex cinemas)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RealD_Cinema
#3
IMAX 3D

Hi all,
Thanks for info Kristian!

P.S.
OK... so it is the very same as we have here... since I also wear glasses (and my wife does as well) it is important for us to know that we can have the 3D glasses on top of our own...

OI! How's it going there, Des?
Life is going well thanks Andre...
As I've just had my last operation, which has ironed-out the infection problem, I was having with the tenckhoff system.
The latest tests also show that my tumor is still dormant, and the long-term prognosis is good.
While it is not a retirement that I planned on, it is a lot better than being dead.
Cheers Des.
Cheers to you, Des!
