From a game standpoint there are certain things I have been very vocal about, but the Intel piece is quite ingenious IMHO. By providing an advantage to units that Prep and by using the hexes units are moving to with a little randomness of how much informaiton is provided one can solve a puzzle ..which is a game in itself [8D]
Two "units" are moving to Saigon. Probably the 77th Regiment.
3/77th Infantry Regiment is loaded on APD Yunagi moving to Saigon.
5/77th Infantry Regiment is loaded on a Gozan Cargo class xAK moving to Saigon.
Now the problem is .. is the 77th regiment only moving to Saigon or is this one little sample of a larger convoy? [&:]
But we get another very interesting message ...The DD Shirarsuyu has sunk in a collision off of Soc Trang. A collision in my sophomoric world happends as a result of a huge number of ships in one task force. I have experinced 2 TK collisions when my 25 ship TK TF's have sailed into severe storms. So now this little tibit offers some indications of at least one large convoy moving around the South China Sea.
How I will act on this infomation is to establish 3 strong Corps around Bangkok and into the Southeast Asia region and pull in my recon fingers that are exploring central Thailand. I suspect troops will be moving to Udon Thani as the Allies have alerted the IJ of this objective though 4E bombing .. and the militia units have crumbled under the 500 pound bombs.
What will be very interesting is if the IJA decide to go on the offense. I believe the above plan of three strong Corps in strategic positions will be able to react to an IJ offense producing a stalemate in the area. IN the meantime I AUS Corps is still 60 days away from staging in Southeast Asia.

Molumein lacks 2X supplies and this situation is worsening. No 2X supplies no drop tanks and no extended range .. Tavoy is helpless .

Wake Is:
Who would think some small island in the middle of the Pacific could be so important at this juncture? But PBY's projecting search arcs from this base I beleive is key for our operations going forward. I will project power as deep as Marcus Island 19 hexes away.
This is the first of my invasions that have not taken place within the sphere of LBA. The KB could be as close as Saipan and my dive bomber operations on Wake Island this turn I am going to assume is going to wake the IJ up .. I have a strong "spidey" sense that the IJ will come out in force. The last contact with CV's was last week in Southeast Asia. To provide some early warning a band of submarines are patroling at 8 hexes from our target.
We shall see how this turns out .. I have two regiments fully prepared to strike about 4,000 troops at Wake 3 Units that include a BF and a . I have 10 CV's 5 big flattops and 5 CVL's along with 8 BB's to provide support ..

RE: The Allies Take the Offense
With maybe the KB 1500 miles to the west we invade Wake Island this turn. We have interlocking seach arcs and lots of submarines to protect the invasion fleet. My main concern is if the defenders last until nightfall .. that would give the KB time to react and pin down our forces ..

I have a huge problem in Southeast Asia. Supply. I really thought by taking Rangoon that I would be aboe to move supplies eastward. It is not happening at all .. This presents a serious problem as bases without X2 supply cannot support drop tanks and the Allies need drop tanks to project any range. I have extended my lines far beyond my ability to support this places by the air ..

RE: The Allies Take the Offense
The picture below demosntrates where we are at in Sooutheast Asia. Fundementally we have accomplished all our goals for "Skilled Hook" but "Meaningfull Kangaroo" is having a very difficult start. No real resistance in front of us but no real suplies either. Moulmein is yellow and no supplies are being propagated from Rangoon.

The picture below demosntrates where we are at in Sooutheast Asia. Fundementally we have accomplished all our goals for "Skilled Hook" but "Meaningfull Kangaroo" is having a very difficult start. No real resistance in front of us but no real suplies either. Moulmein is yellow and no supplies are being propagated from Rangoon.

You are supplying a very large number of troops over a dirt road and I believe that you are into the monsoon season. Even in the best to times that dirt road is going to limit you. I don't think you will see an improvement until you can take Bangkok.

A large number of troops will be needed to take Bangkok [;)] My thought right now is a very traditional seige over the monsoon .. my forces will end up disrupted/disabled but we should be able to surround Bangkok and begin the assult when the I AUS Corps is fully in position.

The Monsoon season in Burma goes from May until October. Right now it has not started yet, but it will, and when it does all supply not on a bright white railines will cut in half. That is six months of disablement of good forces ...[:(] and it will take 2 or 3 months of good supply to bring them back. However, on the other hand the IJ have no clue of the strength of these forces and assume the worse. Right now they are moving troops from other locations and concentrating in a couple of cities. I am thinking the disablement is worth threating the IJ's LOC's in Southeast Asia.
Now the little air battle ..There are multiple factors going on that influece the results. One, the groups are manned with 70+ exp pilots with A2A of 80+. I do not fly every turn and I keep morale high and fatigue low. The IJ are flying everyday at maximum range, with pilots that have mediocre A2A/Def skills, low ,and in this case on an escort mission. I got the bounce and this sortie was almost compleatly eliminated.
I am going to propose that better IJ pilots less fatigue, flying sweep missions getting the bounce in the same exact situation would do much much better against the P40K.
As it is the IJ think their planes suck and the war is lost ... [8D]
