Watched it on German television, and the commentator kept referring to Gdansk as Danzig and Lviv as Lemberg. I was under the impression that those names went out of style in 1945, but not in Germany, it seems...[:-]

I noticed since past few days that I can no longer go and use:

http://www.google.com

it automatically switches me to:

http://www.google.hr


Is it the same for you guys (i.e. are you also forced to your country's Google version instead of global English one)?

Yep. Been that way for the past three or four years.

Nope... it was working OK until just a few days ago...

In your local "Google" (for me it is "Google.hr" - for you it is "Google.nl") there was always small link on bottom right side to "Google.com - but now that is not working any longer...

Darn... I had to change the URLs... it is all over the Internet... Google apparently made some programing mistake...

So...

Instead of regular URL:

http://www.google.com

I have to have custom URL (that one also kills the "Instant Search" - the cookie setting in preferences is no longer working as well):

http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0&tab=mw&hl=en
