I've not tried to play it save for some introductory messing around with it on the computer of a friend who bought it when it first came out. The basic problems are so legion that at some level even the hideous level of axis fanboy fantasy fetishism evident in the product really doesn't matter. At the root level, who the hell wants to play a game where you have to tell every damb electronic pilot how high to fly his aircraft and the time scale is 1 day = 1 day? It's not what I think of as "fun."

Yeah....i remember back in WitP days when he first came out with that line.....the old "I tried it on a friend's computer BS....allegedly an AI game up to March 42 or some such"

regardless of what version of his stories he's spinning. you'd think that after 10 years, this game being such a AXIS FANBOY mockery and all, that he'd move on to greener pastures. But he doesn't.

I find that the characteristics of a troll are a propensity towards insulting speech directed at persons, rather than rebuttals directed at arguments, and a high post count/frequency.

Someone in the blue corner says something (it doesn't really matter what - but is normally related to US aircraft or Japanese subs or Japanese nuclear missiles), someone in the red corner then reacts at which point blue corner person ups the ante in response and allows red teamsters to pile in. Before long everyone has joined in and all can go to bed at night completely satisfied, having raised their post counts to the level required.

What actual degrees does he hold? He claims he is an expert on WW2 Pacific AND European theater, again, what degrees does he hold?

He feels he is qualified to discredit Morrison and his works, and yet has he ever been in any military service? Yet he feels perfectly qualified to disparage a man with MANY honors.

If you examine the bio for Morison, you will find many many awards and acclamations. What awards does Mdiehl hold? How many books has he published?

Mdiehl feels that he is qualified to emote at length on the quality of the game 'War in the Pacific', does it surprise anyone to know he doesnt actually own the game? He has never actually played it? AND I suspect, he has never owned or played Battle of Britain or Bombing of the Reich. But he will tell you he knows all about these games, even tho he has never played them. He will pronounce at length on the 'flaws' of the air modeling.

He will tell you that ANY Axis design is inferior to Allied design, simply because it is Axis.

Tell me, how many of you, would accept advice on how to drive a car, from a man who has never driven one?. Would you accept dating advice from a man who has never dated?

Okay, my feeble (but well meaning) attempt at humour is clearly is going nowhere.

We know there is a load of bad blood between you guys over many years - we get it. But is there really a need for a fight everytime mdiehl (for example) posts something? Have a look at this thread. jakla1027 posts some seemingly innocuous pictures of a P-63. All is well until we get to post 6 - after which it all goes downhill. Was there really anything in post 7 to merit an attack? Following which mdiehl responds in kind and we are back in the same old tit for tat territory.

I am not taking sides btw - this is not my beef - but you have to understand this constant sniping (which gets nowhere - and always ends in the same place) - is pretty boring.
