I agree with MR..I seen your post and this is similar to Combat Mission...I agree with you on that APOS...I tried the demo....what a mess. Way to hard to get into. This game is more like CM and is easier to get right into. You should have no probs with it if you played CM. Too bad you did not buy this one first. Maybe wait till they come out with the patch before you buy this one. It should be soon.

I've been reading Battlefront's road ahead for Combat Mission. They appear to be funding further development by charging their customers for upgrades. What we have with Panzer Command is a plan to make a plan. [:(]

Are they going to add a second sky texture?
We could wait until they release Bagration and make a PCO campaign mod from its scenarios.[;)]

I will continue to support PCO as it has potential to be what I want it to be. I know that the next installment might be quite a ways off in the future, but myself and others will still be here. This next one had better not miss the mark though, another "it's so close" release will doom PCO. It might be time to say where the ship is heading, and speak more then in generalities.

IMO what will doom PC more than anything else is inactivity.

Sitting and creating nothing gets you nothing; in both the long and short term.

If you're referring to fan created scenarios and maps I think you'll find that will increase proportionally with new Matrix content. No one wants to work on a dead horse.

No, I was not referring to fan created anything.

Does all this mean the new patch isn't out yet?

I suspect that this game will be allowed to die a slow death by the powers that be...although you would think that with CMN now focusing on Italy, specifically Sicily, Matrix would recognize a window of opportunity to hurry up with the next installment and OWN the Eastern Front, A HUGE AREA OF INTEREST FOR WORLD WAR 2 GAMERS.

Look, I do not mean to be a shrill voice here, but let's look at the evidence. This game engine has so much potential that if Matrix rounded up some artists to clean up the maps and terrain ( look at Order of War for beautiful maps and units) and let the engine developers add the sexy bell's and whistles, like destructible terrain and re-crewing weapons or moving ATG's, this could be one friggin' awesome series of games. But the key here is you have to spend money to make money...

I own a ton of World War 2 games and I love PCO, but it could be more, so much more and right now Matrix could own the Eastern Front. But let's face it, in Company of Heroes and Men of War you can re-crew weapons, pick up weapons and use them, lay mines if you're an engineer and do all kinds of way cool stuff that we talk about as wish list items? Why?

The other thing that's obvious is clearly the Slitherine titles appear to be garnering all the attention by this house. I am not saying that to be divisive, it just appears that way. Maybe it's good business, maybe not.

Now, let's talk about the patch. Be honest, why is it held up? You guys slammed out two beta patches and the official patch release "is close", so where is it?

This is a small company. Look where their presence on the forums are. That's where their attention is. It's pretty simple math. There are only so many employees and so many games. They can give attention to so many at a time. The rest get 'less'.

Simple mathematics.

The only real answer is that the patch has been done for some time. You aren't waiting on us.

Yes, we know that the patch has been done for at least 8 weeks..but it gets released when it gets released....

I hear that we wait for the preparation of new "patch" YouTube videos....

CM Eastfront out within the year. PCO have missed the boat now I think.

I imagine the new Close Combat game is where all the resources are going to go.

If PCO had dramatically improved Inf I'd have bought into it. As is I'm waiting on CMEF. Plus we have APOS.
