Yesterdays storms were pretty scattered. A few funnel clouds, wind and hail depending were you were. Not much in town. Crops still looking good. Wheat harvest has begun. One month ahead of the normal harvest.
Solar flare from the sun may hit the earth at around midnight. So I'll be looking to the north tonight. As far as the northern lights go ,the last couple of siolars flares were pretty much busts.

Hi all,

Martin, have you managed to find new home near new base?

Leo "Apollo11"

Yep. In the space of a week we went from having nowhere and no time scale on getting a house to being moved in. [8D]

I was in sweden at least 6 times, and I was propably on the roads a few thousand kms - but I've only seen police twice. Sometimes I believed you don't have any at all.

Aren't you Germans supposed to spend a lot more time on the beaches in Denmark than Sweden? Cheaper beer in the former too, no?
My parents had a "thing" for Sweden, so I was dragged along quite often.
But as an adult, I don't voluntarily get into a country where the ladies think I'm a boring native and the beer is expensive! [:-]
Without any doubt: I am the spawn of evil - and the Bavarian Beer Monster (BBM)!

I noticed you guys had some storms rolling east across the state.

And that is going to be it for a few days. We could use about an inch a week. At least we are getting some rain. I hope things change down there. I see drought conditions a quite severe.

To borrow a phrase from PO'B, wish me joy guys.

I got some very good news yesterday. Earlier in the week I had gone to speak to my boss to give her my notice. Since our regional office in CA is in SF I had thought that my time with the company was over. I was very surprised when her response was to give her a little time to square things away with her powers that be.

Yesterday I got the final word. Not only will they let me take a 2 month leave of absence, but will also let me work from home in LA. We are ecstatic about it since it eliminates 50% of our income worries and provides a work scenario I have always dreamed of.

Yuri,

Aren't you on the East coast now? I may be out of the loop re: your whereabouts.

Nontheless, I'm glad to hear that this may work out well for you and am very happy to hear that it's something you've always dreamed of. Success, Comrade Red Mouse!
