At last victory for the Allies 12 Aug 1945 with no A-bomb used. Game was played against the AI from the release date of the game. How longs that anyway?

Good show olde boy. Good show.

I started my current game Allies vs. AI 30 November 2010. Game is now 25 August 1943. I think I'm moving right along.
This is one Czech that doesn't bounce.

Wow, I didn't know you got a victory screen! I would have kept playing my game had I known. I had "major victory" in my information screen from mid '43 to when I gave up in early '44. You must be part of an elite few.

Yes, good show. I got an announcement of something less than Major in early '45, by which time I had taken several key points in the Phillies, all of Formosa and Hong Kong, cutting Japan off from the DEI. I kept playing though til the time ran out in '46, having just captured Kagoshima. Against the AI of course. The AI's play gets weaker and weaker as time goes forward.

I started my game against the AI in August 2009 with three day turns. It is currently 15 June 1943. I find this thread oddly reassuring.

The Victory Screen is classic GG.

I want a victory march and at least a few fake, digital fireworks! Maybe a picture of the Girl Back Home waiting for me after VJ Day. (Think of the modding opportunities.) [:'(]

any game that takes a long time to finish always ends up feeling somewhat.....anti-climatic at the end.

My first experience with that was after finishing the eight bit game "Shamus"

YOU WON!!!!!

Then the same thing happened with Exodus: Ultima III. [:D]

maybe a video parade would work.....followed by an automailed medal of achievement shipped straight from Gary's living room to yours.

I think Zork was like that too.

On the ending, there is a lot of public domain film of the war; look at the opening credits. I just think the spare end-screen represents how GG sees mega games. It's a valid POV, just not mine. I want a party after 1-2 years of play.
