Lots of people will tell you how to do things. They may be right, they may be wrong. They are telling you how they would have fought their last game, not how to fight yours. The only advice worth giving is what Nimitz said to Fletcher; You are governed by the principle of calculated risk, which you shall interpret to mean the avoidance of exposure of your force to attack by superior enemy forces without good prospect of inflicting, as a result of such exposure, greater damage on the enemy.

There's some tricks in Babes that let you do that, to some extent. Be glad to help you figger them little things out.

Matt

Thanks mate. Really appreciated your comment here.! Wise words, for wise men!

Tavoy held our first attack....tomorrow should fall against a shock!

KB sailed from Truk....we avoided the pesky subs....but they will follow us...i know....

Mini-KB (Zuiho + 2 CVEs) sailed and will meet the 2nd Mindanao invasion force, while two regiments are already advancing circling the allied fortified positions at Cayagan.

Kaga+Ryuho moved from Camra Bay...we'll meet the 21st Division and its partners in deep ocean....then we'll move towards Kuantan. Zeros and Oscars from Kota Bahru will keep on sweeping Singapore.
I decided to reinforce the Palembang invasion with one more reinforced regiment... should have nearly 350 AVs landing at Palembang.

Force Z spotted at Batavia....

A para drop will be attempted against Port Blair Tomorrow ...finger crossed!

Are you sure that that TF at Port Blair isn't a reinforcement convoy?

If he's got a Indian Brigade there, then the Para drop might not go so well

I cannot be sure....but it's an attempt it's worth to be tried imho. That TF has been there for 2 turns now and it hasn't unloaded any additional unit so far....

Hell, he could have one of the Singapore "reinforcement convoys" there

That would be different!

Can it even get there this quickly?

What do you mean with singapore reinforcement convoys???? Do you think he would dare to send a reinforcement TF to Singa? Wouldn't be crazy??

No, you know the two division that start as "Singapore reinforcement" convoys

I think ones off map (so that wouldn't be it) but doesn't one start near Karachi?

That might be able to make Port Blair in time

I'm guessing here, and it would be a hell of a risk, and he'd almost certainly lose it eventually, but you'd have to put a lot of resources in to it to take it.

it all depends on whether it can get to Port Blair by Dec 17th (thats when you said it arrived)

It can't get there that fast, can it?

I've only ever played one game so I genuinely don't know if thats even possible

well, we'll soon discover it [:D]

However, i'm pretty sure he reinforced Rangoon so, if ever, he sent reinforcements there.
A division at Port Blair so early is a great risk...The Brits cannot risk to lose an entire division, leaving it there completely isolated

But who knows..... however if the paras manage to take the base, we'll immediately transfer there a battallion and a base force...wanna start to apply a good pressure in the Bay of Bengal.

It's time to take some risks

There are three brigades 'at sea' off the west coast of India at start. There is the 18th UK Division leaving Cape Town at start. The question is where did Brad send them??

WTF? He doesn't have 4 CVE's. This is FOW, might have a CV but this is darn strange

CVs SE of Tokyo - he knows that you don't have enough Zeros yet to have upgraded the Claudes on Honshu. Thus, any Nell/Betty set on naval attack will get shredded. He may think you will have to send any transports from Tokyo to Truk further west and he 'may' have Boise and/or Houston over in that area to intercept. He may be hoping that you divert part or all of KB north to go chase after his CV while he has another CV head into the Solomons area to stop your invasions. He has three CVs to use right now. The Yorktown shows up at the end of the month.

Not at port blair me guess.

My guess is that, if he's sent them reinforcing some place on the front, i bet they are in Burma. We'll soon discover that....

At Palembang 8 units are spotted for 10k men....pretty a lot!!! I'm happy to have reinforced the Palembang invasion...

But i have 60 Netties at Tokyo...no zeros, you are right, but if they took off the risk for him could be really high... well, they didn't...but is it worth to risk a carrier staying for 3 days in Range of Netties from Japan HI?
Yes, it's only 1 CV i guess.... don't know where are the other 2...

The Allied player starts with a British task force called the Singapore Fast Reinforcement convoy, with CL Ceres and six transports, fully loaded with the 44th and 45th Indian Brigades, docked off Goa.

There is another loaded task force off Karachi with the 46th Indian Brigade (called the Burma Reinforcement task force).

The Singapore fast reinforcement task force (off Goa) can reach Port Blair easily within 8 days, i.e. by 16 December. You're looking at just over 200 AV of Indian troops (30 xp).

As indicated by ny59giants, there is a transport convoy that starts at Cape Town, loaded with the British 18th Division (40-45 xp). This convoy will take at least two and a half weeks to reach India.

Thanks CT Grognard. My only hope is not to find the Singapore reinforcement troops at palembang...that would be a real problem.
I'll land a division-equivalent force there...but if he has two indian bde reinforcing the ducth troops, behind some good forts, it could be not enough[:-]...gotta hurry up and hope he has sent those troops somewhere else (burma maybe)

CHINA:

I'm pretty confident that we should be able to deal with the "partisans" that are threatening our inner supply lines within the end of the month. More supplies will be shipped to China and we'll devote more efforts into the air war there, so to support our troops.
I need to clear the whole Southeastern Area, so that i can committ more forces for the front lines near Changsha.

LUZON:

Allied forces in Luzon are pretty strong indeed. However i don't wanna fight them for the moment. I'll push them back into the triangle Manila-Clark-Bataan, and then i'll simply leave enough AVs in order to defend my position and forbid the supply production in Manila.
I'll probably leave there the equivalent of 2 Divisions (the 65th Bde, 2 Rgts of the 16th Divisions and some SNLF units, along with 2 Engineers regiments supported by some artillery) and evacuate the rest (tanks above all) for the next advance in southern DEI.

MINDANAO:

I need to get this island quickly now. Allied troops have fortified Cayagan. I will conquer Davao and the rest of his bases and then probably simply keep it suppressed (a Sally Sentai should be enough for this job), so that i can move on.

SUMATRA:

As i said, the invasion of Palembang will be a priority. Brad is already fortifying it and i don't wanna be forced to face a Festung Palembang in this game. In few days an Air HQ should be present at Singawank. Then we'll be able to base there Netties and Zeros, in order to support our operations. Clearly to achieve this objective i need to get rid of the pesky allied fighters that are defending Singapore.... once their number will be low enough, i should be able to loose my netties and make them look for juicy preys.

MALAYA:

The operation against Kuantan is now a must. We're proceeding too slowly in the north and now i regrett not to have listened to those who suggested me to swicth from Mersing to Kuantan (Pax or princeps maybe?!)... well, now it's too late to regrett but we're still in time to take it.
The invasion force will be screened by a BBTF (2 Kongos) and by a Cruiser TF. Netties will be based, for the upcoming operation, at Kota Bahru, so that if Force Z wants to come out and play (at the moment she should be lingering near Batavia) i will be ready to meet her.

PACIFIC:

We're sending a base force to Marcus Island and to Wake. Both will be garrisoned as soon as some units arrive as reinforcements.
We're also sending some small units to take Baker Island and Tabiutea in the Gilberts.

Zuiho Group (CVL Zuiho + 2 CVEs + 3 CS + 2 BBs) will support the second invasion of Mindanao. probably it's not needed, but i wanna avoid any suriprise. Then it will support the conquest of Jolo (that will close the final encirclement of PI) and then will move to join the Kaga+Ryuho, forming a reinforced Mini-KB (CV Kaga + 2 CVLs + 2 CVE).

As said, Rabaul and the Solomons will be conquered shortly, with the fully support of KB and a couple of combat SCTFs.

After Rabaul we'll immediately move for an early conquest of PM, Mylne Bay and Lunga-Tulagi. Once done that, the KB will probably sail towards Ambon in order to support the future advances in that key area.

BURMA: well, here everything depends on how strong Brad wants to defend. If he reinforced the area i'll clearly need more troops (now i'm committing very few units)....but i also could consider, if he reinforced, a landing in SOUTHEAST India in order to close the door behind Burma garrisons.... maybe maybe[:)]

I'm also considering the idea of sending the KB, once
