HQ Slots in the Locations Database

Post by GaryChildress »

According to the editor manual:
Certain Locations must be left in their assigned slots as follows:
Japanese HQ’s must be located in slots 1-98. (although additional Japanese HQ’s may be
located in the normal Japanese unit ranges)
Allied HQ’s must be located in slots 100-215 (although additional Allied HQ’s may be
located in the normal Allied unit ranges).

Question #1: Can I moive around and rename HQs within slots 1-98 or 100-215 so long as Japanese HQs are in range 1-98 and Allied in range 100-215?

Question #2: Are HQs in slots 1-98 or 100-215 somehow different than HQs that would be defined in normal unit ranges? In other words, could I place Pacific Fleet in a normal unit slot, say slot #5102 instead of having it in slot #102? Or would that cause problems in the game?

Question #3: Is it possible to make all HQs in slots 1-98 and 100-215 have delay of 9999 and then only have HQs that are included in the game in regular unit slots further down?

Thanks.

Just do NOT do it. You can get away with moving some of them, others will bite you in the butt big time. Just do not do it!

And on the LCU subject, do you still have to put the IJA/IJN in certain slots with the Allies in other certain slots? Or can you add in IJA/IJN LCUs at the end of the DB, for example?

Of all the databases "Locations" seems to be the most laden with hardcoding.
