OK. The "(13)" means that their destination is 13 hexes away.

"9/9" means they can moves a maximum speed of 9 hexes in one phase (x 2 = 18 hexes per day).

"23-42" (actually it's "23/42", right?) means that the TF has 23 hexes of fuel remaining at the presently ordered speed (you didn't say what speed the TF is set for: Mission, Cruise, or Full). The "42" is the total of how far to the TF's destination and then back to home port.

The real problem seems to be the depleted fuel state of your TF.

Full speed is set.  I cannot run full speed back to PH but I can run for about 2 days.   All ships are above 4166 top ship is around 7k.  I have AOs that can meet them if need be, but the KB cant be around.

I have set my fighters on 100% CAP.  14 Wildcats at 3k, 19 at 10K, 32 at 12K, and 36 at 15K.  1 squadron of SBDs doing nav search and another doing ASW.  The rest are training. I am debateing if it is worth setting up a strike package or not.  I am thinking with all fighters in the air I stand a better chance of keeping my carriers.  I am heading just north of Johnson Island.  Once I get closer I can bring in some fighters from PH to help with CAP and maybe strike at his carriers with some LBA.

It looks like he is trying for intercept as well he should; aside from taking evasive action you may consider an SBD or at least TBFs and float planes as an add to the CAP if this is a developed KB with ample Zeros. I might try a run at Adak or Dutch or Kodiak if you have assets there. Yes you still have a peanut gallery.

As a small note, I get booted now from the site so often and its making posting a PITA.

How do the upgrades for LCUs work?  For example; I want to upgrade and Indian ID.  If I click upgrade the Ind inf sections will be replaced by Ind Inf 42.  Will the Ind inf be upgraded to Ind inf 42 or stay the same?  ALFRED!!!!!!!! ...

Seems like my reply got lost in the ether. Just as Zuluhour has experienced, I'm getting very unstable access to the forum which is causing problems posting.

Anyway this is what I had drafted.

Could you post screenshot of what it is you are clicking on to get an upgrade?

Normally this would be the situation.

1. It is the TOE template which changes to the "upgraded" TOE template.

2. For the change of TOE template to occur it must be:

(a) due now or overdue (IOW you can't force it ahead of time)
(b) the LCU must be in "rest" mode
(c) the LCU must be within range of a Command HQ

3. The LCU will attempt to draw in the devices to match it's current TOE. Obviously this requires those matching "new" devices to be present in the pool (IIRC at 150% of the unit requirement for the changeover to occur).

4. The obsolete replaced infantry squads go back to the pool and following the last mega patch they will eventually convert to the latest infantry squad standard.

Yes, I have been having problems with the forum and my posts it sucks.  Thanks for posting Alfred and Zulu.  Glad to see someone is stopping by and posting everyonce in a while.

Zulu.  SBDs or Avengers can't perform CAP duties.  But nice idea though.

Alfred I'll post some pics here later.  I went ahead to upgrade it to see what happens.

No turn today.  That makes me sad.  I want to know what happens.  The suspense is killing me.

I have set my fighters on 100% CAP.
Does that work for you? I seem to have memories of people on this forum mentioning that this often doesn't work as well as expected. Maybe due to the fact that they're all out of gas and ammo after the first wave of intercepts. I've never tried this so I can't be certain, but thought I'd mention it just in case.

On the CVs, why not use way points to take advantage of the hex rows, further faster.

Wanted them to go as fast and as far as possible but towards PH.  I didn't pay that much attention.

24th Sept

KB East of Maloelap
MKB unknown

All the action was in the Marshall Islands.

Bombardment TF ran into 10 landing barges outside of the port. All 10 where sunk. Minimal damage was done to the AF. Air Craft loses will be reported in a screen shot. 6 SSX's attacked DD's and got hammered 4 are either sunk or will sink. The last 2 got luck as my DDs were out of ASW ammo. Day time brought the Nells out with A6m3a's as escorts. The Nells got thru and put a TT into the Penn. She's ok for now. The BB group will ro to Maloelap and hide under my CAP. So far I have 70 some fighters, I am working on getting more.

My 2E bombers attack Roi Namur's AF the first wave gets in under his CAP. The other 2 waves aren't as lucky. At the end of the day we have 31 AF hits. 2E's will attack by night and hopefully do some more damage. 2/3's of the fighters and half of the bombers are missing from Roi Namur.

KB is 8 hexs due east of Maloelap. Intel says heading NE. Intel also says on 60 fighters and 100 bombers. Knoiu has said that this is the KB in an email. he was devasated that he didn't get my carriers. Kb did sink a lone DD The strike package was kinda small for the KB 21 Vals and 33 Zeros.

In the screenshot found in post #748 the red line obscures whether you are displaying the TOE template or what the unit is actually equipped with.

1. If it is the TOE template you are showing, then you need to do the TOE template upgrade first. The details were given in my last post as to how to go about doing that.

2. If it is instead showing what it is currently equipped with but the TOE template has already upgraded, then the problem you have is that you don't have sufficient Indian 42 squads in the pool. The swap is made on a 1:1 basis, thus you need to have at least 150 Ind 42 squads in the pool.

The unit being a division it should be able to divide. One technique is to divide the unit (it will divide into three parts). When the parts have each upgraded, re-build the unit back to the full division.

Hopefully there will not be any bugs affecting leaders, but if you are running the latest patch it should work OK.

Alfred and Witqps thanks for posting again.

Alfred, that unit has not upgraded yet.   So I need to wait for 150 squads.  Ok

Witqps thanks thats a good idea. I might do that.

I wonder what his supply is on Roi Namur.  With building the SSX's, LB's, and me bombing him.  I hope its low.  I also hope the he dosen't have that many engs on the island.  If I can close the runway, keep it close I can work on Kwajalein's AF.  He has 40 fighters stationed there.

I am going to stop daylight bombings for now.  I want to protect my BB's, once they are safe or destroyed I will escort 2Es on bombing missions.  This debacle might of helped me out.  Fighters on escort mission is nothing but targets.  I just wasted a bunch of his planes on the ground and escort.  Maybe I will catch more on the next turn.
