Windows 8 and multiple monitors?

Post by sabre1 »

With Win 8 will we be able to finally run a game in one monitor while reading the PDF in another monitor?

You poke it with that stick and see what it does...

I've been reading discussions all over the place but this topic has not come up that I have seen. You could try the preview but then you have to repair your original install to undo things.

I'm pretty sure Windows 8 uses the same basic kernel and video drivers of Vista and 7.

As such, I doubt task switching between legacy windows apps will be changed all that much.

It's one OS I'm avoiding like the plague. Though sadly at some point we will all be stuck with OS that was designed for tablets\mobile devices not a desktop.

This has been possible since WIN 95

The game developer has to develope the game so it can be done.

Comments to game developers over the last 15 years or so gets a response: "Not every player will be using 2 monitors so it is difficult."

Microsoft gave us this feature many years ago but nobody uses it.

So basically no dice unless the game is made to take advantage of that feature. Oh well...

This is the information I have read. I plan on never having Win8.

Yeah, it's starting to look that way.

I'm still using Vista. It works, hasn't given me any problems, and just don't feel the need to upgrade yet.

I think MS is slipping in the OS market.

Meanwhile, BFC had to rearrange folder structure for the new CMFI for the new security features in W8. I would guess that all games will have to do this in order to be compatible.
