Jan 24th wasn't the most exciting turn we've had to date.

KB launched a sizable attack on Batavia destroying planes on the ground and wrecking the AF. That can only mean an invasion is soon to follow. All of their land invasions have been well supported by LBA and CVs.

Harvey's mixed SAG encounted their DD screen and exchanged a round of salvos.

Cayagan, Koepang, Tsiaotso, Manila, Darwin, Darwin area, and Batavia were all subject to bombers.

They have been commiting numerous assets to Tsiaotso lately, and Mike is making them pay for it in my opinion. He mentioned that is a good area to defend in, and produces good results for the defender.

Had a nice juicy AK in Tautog's sights, but came up empty handed. Was used to taking down a few ships here lately.

Singers, S of Darwin, Ichang, Tsiaotso, Cayagan, and Koepang were all scenes of ground combat this turn.

Attu was invaded.. not a big surprise. Usually a target of most Japanese players. That or Adak.. We have four old DDs and an Omaha class CL in Dutch that is there for this specific reason. Will the invasion force hang around long enough to send them out, or would it have unloaded in one turn with the bonus?

My 2nd AVG is licking it wounds and down to just 6 aircraft at Chungking. They are waiting for the other squadron to refit to P40Es and release more airframes to bring them up to enough to field a full squadron. I will then move them back to Loyang (I think that is the name) where I have an airfield and support to do so. I will then split it up into three units and layer them on LRCAP and see what it does. Hopefully it will chew up some bombing missions.

I have to wait a bit though as I need two replacement cycles to bring them up to strength. If I could just upgrade them to P40Es I could be at full strength in just days instead of two weeks or more.

Logistics, China, Russia and help with US position report:

136th USA BF appears at SF, small 14V BF, set for Penhyn Island to boost its V capacity to 24 to help shuttle airgroups eventually.

Air transport TF from yesterday decided to load supplies at LA, go figure… Stopped them from loading, change to Transport to attach an xAP that appeared at LA this turn to shuttle it to San Fran. I guess they knew more than I did…

Going to send Concord and the DD division with her to check out Attu Island. Set her observation aircraft to scout ahead and extended the PBYs out of Dutch another two hexes to get some idea of what is out there. Maybe we will catch a transport fleet unloading even with the fast unload. Should be there tomorrow night.

58th PG/67th PS set to train, 100, range 0, filled with trainees.

Eastern USA bound TFs will start arriving in four days.

LA bound TFs from Panama arrive on map in 3, 5, and 9 days. Plan is to dump ships at LA and have DDs return to Panama to shuttle the constantly arriving shipping there.

ANZAC: Resource TFs there are performing as expected.

Analysis of situation around Port Moresby is that the KB is probably going that direction and there will be an invasion force from the Rabaul/Truk area as soon as the KB secures the airspace. The attacks at Batavia are indicative of two larger carriers and one smaller one. This still leaves four large ones unaccounted for along with the smattering of smaller ones. This is also indicated in our SigInt: Heavy Volume of Radio transmissions detected at 86,127. Which is the TF that all we see is that it is a TF. Just my two cents.

Just upgraded the AVG squadron in Bombay and they are on thier way to Calcutta. H-81s should be in the pool for reconstituting the 2nd AVG and you will be getting a P-40E equipped squadron shortly (full strength and ready to go).

The CAP trap worked but none of my other bombers flew with the fighter cover out of Bandoeng[:(]. Pissed me off as I had a large portion of bombers on naval attack and only the Demons flew. Cost 20 B-339Ds [:@].

The little SAG adventure cost 3 x 4 pipers (2 sunk and 1 badly damaged), but the CLs are in good shape. there are 3 more DDs in the hex on ASW patrol, so they will link up and hightail it out of the area. It is not the full KB, but enough to wreak havoc. Didn't expect the 1/2 KB to show up. Almost managed a surface intercept........

Moved some units from Manila and Bataan forward to Clark to strengthen it to around 1k AV. Hoping I am not waiting to late and trap 900 AV at Manila that can't fall back to Bataan.

Mike confirmed the unit on Attu is a construction unit. We're sending Concord over ASAP.. that is why she's there.

Moved the CVs to three hexes north of Louganville... getting nervous and I really want to use them when the odds are HIGHLY stacked in my favor early on.

Yorktown will arrive at Pago Pago this turn, while the rest of her task force is steaming east from Brisbane the last couple of turns. Once she steams forward to meet her sisters, we'll have four USN CVs, one British CV and CVL online. Once I upgrade all Buffs, we'll have a full line of Wildcats.

Early reports are the Concord and her DesDiv moved much more aggressively than expected and got to Attu before recon could be done. As such she and her escorts were severely damaged when they found a Kongo Class BB and several CAs at the island. We don't know if they will get back for repairs or not, but once the turn comes back we will know more.
