Victory Hexes?

The development team behind the award-winning games Decisive Campaigns: From Warsaw To Paris and Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive year and theater of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue simulates the German drive to Stalingrad and into the Caucasus of the summer of 1942, as well as its May preludes (2nd Kharkov offensive, Operation Trappenjagd) and also the Soviet winter counter-offensive (Operation Uranus) that ended with the encirclement of 6th Army in Stalingrad and the destruction of the axis minor armies. With many improvements including the PBEM++ system, this is a release to watch for wargamers!

Victory Hexes?

Post by Toby42 »

I've been playing around with the short scenario's. In the Kharkov one the Germans start with 62 points. They need 65 for victory. I've looked in the manual and on the map for victory hexes. I notice that some towns have a blue dot and some have a red dot? What am I missing?

From what I can tell so far,the red dots are worth 25pts and the blue 10pts.The white ones seem to be worth 1pt.

The colors just tell you the city size - Red for big, blue for medium, black for small and white for town. The number of VPs is set per hex by the scenario designer, so it could be anything. Normally, the bigger cities are worth more and 25VP seems to be the standard, but don't assume it once you start playing custom scenarios from modders.

So, where in the manual is a list of points per hex? I just can't find it. Taking the Kharkov Scenario, how does the German get those required 65 points?

Mouse over the city hexes to see the VP value at the top of the screen. Kharkov is worth 50 IIRC.

I'll try that. To me the manual is the weakest part of this title? A lot of things aren't explained properly...
