PBEM++ "Caseblue.exe has encounted a problem and needs to close"

I accepted a PBEM++ challange from user: Herbie and started the 2nd Kharkov scenario. It loads, but when I click ok to play my turn, a windows error pops up and says: "Caseblue.exe. has encountered a problem and needs to close."

Every.....freakin.... time.

Any work around for this?

Standing ready to fix. But i need to pinpoint this exactly. Do you get this bug when pressing the 'accept challenge' button?, or after the 'scenario loading' popup and pressing 'start turn'? or after the scenario setup screen and pressing 'start game'

It shows up after I click OK at this screen:

"Successfully downloaded your turn"

It goes to the next screen for a second, then the error pops up.

I sent the log file as requested. Thanks for your help!

Hi,

Ok checked it. Your Case Blue game is working, but your 2nd Kharkov game file is corrupted. Because the upload by your opponent was not complete, but not rejected either. I am going to check with the Slitherine servers how this was allowed to happen.

Furthermore i am going to try to give a little more gracefull exit than the current one if this issue occurs.

Would it help if I delete the game and redownload it? This has happened on two different PBEM games.

(edit) Vic, when I try to go to PBEM now, I get the error:

Error Report: Serial number is non-existant [3]

Help me Obi-Vic, you're my only hope.

Just to be clear: You can download and play your 'case blue' game right? but not the '2nd kharkov' game?

The other game you mention in which you had the bug? its already deleted i guess? Was it with the same opponent?

Since as i analyse the issue the '2nd kharkov game' crashes the game since it was corruptly uploaded in the first turn of your opponent. I am working on making such a thing happening impossible in v1.03.

Basically your 2nd kharkov game is beyond rescue since they file is corrupt, and its the first turn as well, so no backup.
