Ternate: F4F recon squadron moved to Boela to recon Ternate. If it is empty, the always cheerful 503rd PIR will land tomorrow.
Have u guys considered bestowing the Presidential unit citation award on 503rd PIR? seems they have earned it.
Rasmus
Yes, quite. As I recall, 3 combat jumps in less than a month, maybe 3 weeks. The first one at Dobo resulted in the loss of most of the Regiment. Dobo, Saumlaki and Boela. They probably need a character in the story?

RE: Hearts and Minds
In all fairness, I have vacationed in Berkley Springs. What I saw there was some of the finest wild life in the east. [8D] I would go on to say that there was in fact a dentist in town (I know I looked) and a spa which was at first I was somewhat apprehensive about visiting, but as it was part of the "birthday weekend" I induldged. You might say I was a bit rougher on the beaver than Ward would have liked but the youg'un providing the service was, as Dan might say, quite the looker. I would put it in the clear something like HORY CRIPES [X(] thats some fine breeding.

Two EXCELLENT tradeoffs in fighter losses. We were getting waxed before. Do you have LRCAP instead of escort missions?

Interesting. Look at this battle.
21 P-40K and 11 Martlet II in escort v 32 A6M2 and 2 Tojos
And we come out with a 3:1 kill ratio. That represents a BIG improvment. Perhaps LYB pilot quality is on the decline?
And in the earlier battle we have 11 Hurris and 21 P-40K v 14 Tojos
and get a 4:1 kill ratio
Japanese aircraft
A6M2 Zero x 34
Ki-44-IIa Tojo x 2
Allied aircraft
Martlet II x 11
Liberator II x 15
Wellington Ic x 16

Maybe the Empire is in disarray. Probably there is a Kamikaze diving on Tojo's hot tub as we speak. I hope they dont give up before we are done attacking.[:)]
