Windows 8 RC Crash

Hi,

I have tried to run the game under Windows 8 RC and when the map is loaded and I click on an object (anything really) it crashes to the desktop.

Seems to load fine. Music plays, graphics load...

I have run it under my dual booted Windows 7 - no problems there.

Will there be a future patch for Win8?

My experience is that it does NOT run in W8, at least in 64 bit. Was OK in W7 64.
This is for original release and the latest patch.

Thanks, is there any option in Widows 8 to set application compatibility for Windows 7, or earlier ? Planning to buy a new computer and Windows 8 is the O/S on offer.

Nothing I tried worked, sorry. No compatibility with W7 or XP nor Admin rights. Game dies as soon as you click on map. Luckily my rig had a second drive that boots to XP & everything runs OK on that with the same hardware, as it did previously in W7 64, so the issue is surely with W8 compatibility.
Strategic War in Europe runs OK in W8 64.
