In java we're moving fast to isolate Batavia from the south. Daily attacks of ducth bombers repulsed without problems. Several new aces among my lines...
 
KB is near Camra Bay. Will regroup and refuel and wait for Singa to fall before moving out of the theatre.

The 12th of Feb is an important date for the Empire: Singapore fell with 55k enemy men!!!
The worst part is that EVERY SINGLE facility in Singa is damaged...i'll need sooooo many supplies to repair them[:o]
However now the 2nd phase can begin.
I have 2 divisions badly badly trashed. The Imperial is at 30%, while the 5th is at 34%[X(]...they cannot be used in these conditions...not in the first waves anyway!

He's more or less retiring from Burma as far as i can tell.... so my idea is now the following: i have 48 days before the bonus is over, so i must do it quickly.
With things in China going pretty well (more about it later), i think i should play conservatively and estabilish a good defensive perimeter asap.
So the idea is to split once again the KB. Kaga and the light carriers (Soho just arrived) will stay togheder, while the KB, packed up with more land based zeros, will operate apart.

The idea is to land at Pegu and Akyab a decent Army, conquer Burma asap and then close on China from the west, diggin in Burma immediately with engineers and AA units.
For this operation i think i'll use 3 divisions, plus some minor infantry units. The 33rd, the 2nd and the 21st. These big units will join the 15th army (composed of elements of the 55th ID and RTA divisions) and, along with several artillery units, willprobably finish Burma by april 42.
In the meanwhile, 2 infantry regiments will finish up northern Sumatra and the Adamans, followed by engineers and base forces.
Kaga's CVTF will support the whole operation, along with 2 strong SCTFs.

The rest of the 25th army that conquered Singapore will wait a couple of weeks and then will sail south. The goal is to conquer northern Oz untill Tennant's creek, while minor units will invade Makassar, Koepang, Derby, Exmouth and every single other base in southern DEI. Balikapan and Samarinda will be taken when everything in the south is over.
Passing by we'll land some more units in Java, finishing everything south of Kalidati and laying a siege at Batavia.

KB may also raid Perth if everything remains quiet on my flanks (consider that the NE flank is already covered by the early conquests of PM, Horn Island and Mereuake).

During the next two months we'll play very defensively in CENTPAC and SOPAC. only small convoys will bring supplies, but nothing big will be moving untill the Kb returns in the area. Netties and Zeros will be based en masse at Truk, Rabaul, Marshalls and Tokyo (the latter just in case he tries something).
We'll only reinforce heavily the Solomons, bringing one more Air HQ at Munda, along with several AA units, Eng units and base forces. Wanna have, by mid 42, this whole area absolutely secure!

In china we're finally making some progresses in the south. The enemy roadblock has been pushed back finally, and now the road to Tsuyun in completely open. Nanning has been conquered, securing a good road from Indochina and Singapore. I'm clearing the whole area with regiments taken from Luzon, so that i can keep on pushing without worring much of my back.
At Changsha i'm trying to threaten his right flank and he's already moved back at least 7 corps, while the 22nd Division is doing very well fighting 3 enemy corps south of Chansga. After today battle, they no longer rapresent a real threat being completely out of supplies and cut out from everything.
In the north we're trying to push on 3 different vectors (see map)...but it won't be easy...we'll do our best!

Careful what you repair at Singapore.

If most of the industry there is destroyed, you may be better off leaving it like that instead of spending the HI and supplies needed to repair it.

I was going to give you an "Impulse Disorder" but you're Italian, so I had to rule that out. [:D]

Singapore - Break those heavily disabled divisions into their A, B, and C components and set to "Rest." Assign leaders with high Inspiration, Leadership and then Land skills in that order. Make sure the Southern Command HQ (or a Naval Command HQ) is there with over 20k in supplies. If these two conditions are met, then you will take any needed replacements daily vs every third day.

Malaya - I would plan on expanding Heavy Industry at Georgetown to 25 and Singapore to 75. These take priority for supply usage over any other economic asset. The Repair Shipyard is a personal preference thing. I would have it be at least 50 in size and then afterwards its up to you. Some players like to make the Repair Shipyard at Soerabaja about the same size. I want it at 50 so I can get a CV or BB in there, except Yamato, and maybe another warship. LI and/or Resource repair is not done by most players.

Vehicles - How much did you expand this and what is your current stockpile?? You get an extra tank division plus the components of the other two divisions by July so you wnat those numbers to be going up significantly. Next time you update Tracker, pull up "LCU Production" and sort for 180 days so you can see where you are in this area.

OT - I'm glad my China looks so much better that yours as the Allies at a similar point. Olorin has been frustrated in front of Sian for the time being. I've added over 500 Chinese Infantry Squads to my forces already.

I've expanded Vehicles by 80...pools look good so far. Losses have been very low in terms of tanks...
At singapore we're having lots of problem with supplies...we're still repairing the facilities (not the industries, i mean port, runaways and airfields) cause they were 100% damaged (not me, i bombed only the AFs!)....supplies are very low in Singa and overall in the whole Indochina...in Burma the supply situation is so critical that i had to stop any offensive[:o]

In Java we entered into Batavia. He still has 50 P-40s there and some bombers, so i have to be carefull... We're also advancing towards Sabarang, cutting the Isle in two pieces.

In china things look good! we took with paras another important dot base north of Ichang (see map) and now, with the opening of the mountain road to Sian and with another forming pocket south of it, the whole sian sector is crumbling down...if he doesnt get out fast he risks of having more than 300k men pocketed South of Sian!

The more i think of it and the more i like the idea of the "chinese strategy".
To support this strategy i need not to take stupid risks in dangerous voyages and adventures...let's take Burma and let's take northern oz...then we can dig in and finish China with ease....

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR Feb 16, 42
I took a deep look into Tracker. In the whole Malaya there are only 26k supplies, while in Indochina (say Camra Bay and Saigon), not more than 45k....The fact that in this mod Palembang doesn't produce supplies and that Singapore industries are all damaged is clearly creating some heavy problems to my war efforts.
However, we have to soldier on and find a solution. Now 100k supplies are being shipped from Formosa (where i don't need them anymore), along with 10 AA units and 4 base forces. These will all be moved to Singa.
Convoys are now formed. Most of my xAKs and TKs are now being moved (with decent escort) from rear area bases to Singapore. As soon as the area is secured (meaning decent ASW cover and Batavia AF shut down) we will start to pump from Palembang (whose port is now at 5 and 40%) oil, resources and fuel.
In one week we'll start to load troops from Singapore for the next operations against Burma, northern Oz and Sumatra/Java. Would like to make the first landings by the first week of March 42.
Everything seems quiet in the pacific (NOPAC included). We're spotting several heavy escorted convoys moving around Christmas Island. This probably means he will attempt some early move against the Marshalls/Gilberts. I'm securing the whole area but it takes time cause that front is not a priority. However i'm garrisoning all the important atolls, and keeping 60 Netties along with 40 Zeros there just in case. Wake and Marcus are now fully defended, with 6k men each (stacking limit). Each of them have a base force (with DP guns), a Naval guard unit and an AA unit. Should be enough to prevent an easy grabbing.
I'm also building up the Kuriles...just in case he wanna make a "greyjoy"
Strategically my ideas are getting clearer. I want to estabilish a historical perimeter in Burma and in CENTPAC/NOPAC and SOPAC, with the only exception for SWPAC where NG and Northern Oz will be included, while building a strong defensive line in Bungaville/Caroline and in Timor-Ambon line. A special attention will be given to China, where now i really think i can shrink his defensive lines up to the Chungking area. The goals in china, for the next 6 months, are the following:
1- Cut the burma road and start applying a strong pressure in Western China.
2- Force him, manouvreing (sp!?), to abbandon Changsha, making a series of strategic flanking movements.
3- Clear everything in the south so to secure the road connection Singapore-Bankok-Hanoi-Canton-Shangai (hopefully fuel and resources will flow to Shangai all the way from Singapore).
4- Conquer Sian and isolating Chunking from the northern China (either by flanking or by brute force).
once these goals are achieved (and i think they can be achieved), i'll stop and consider what to do next (if keep on pushing or simply sit down and dig in).

I've played japan enough to known that one of the most difficult things to master is the logistical efforts needed to follow up the at start set up. Making sure you have supply, fuel, troops, and ships to smoothly transit from one operation to the next is stressful.

Take Singapore as an example. When it is close to falling, did you have DMS stationed at Mersing to go over to sweep the mines or were they still at Saigon and/or CamRahn Bay?? In one of my first games as Japan, it was another week before I could use the port due to this oversight. [X(] Then, there is loading up the excessive supply and fuel at those two bases and have those transports over at Malaya waiting for the port to become operational. All these delays hurt and time is not your friend for the first six months like it is for the Allies.

Take yourself back around a calendar year or so. Recall the terrified lad who started an AAR in the panic of Rader's moves in China. "He's bombing everywhere! I am trading blood for time!"

Now observe the Chinese front in this game, as you calmly recover from Q's initial offensive in southern China, then counter in the north, center and south to drive him back everywhere. He is on the verge of losing key bases and being left with insufficient supply generating capacity to support his armies.

Very true Micheal...but i almost had everything ready...minesweepers were based at Palembang, ready to do their job, while the bulk of the navy was anchored at Singora...far from enemy's eyes...the point is that i didn't stockpile any supplies, thinking (stupid me!) to catch some of them, along with fuel etc, when the city had fallen....not a single ton of supply was found at Singa!!!

In the last three days the situation at Singa has improoved, with the arrival of 30k supplies and the same goes for Burma, where finally the horrible road connection from Indochina has flown in some thousands supplies.
His subs keep on driving me mad... even against heavy escorted convoys and in shallow waters :-@....4 succesfull attacks in the last 3 days...and i even lost a precious AK! Damned!!!
In Burma he's fleeing without fighting...don't understand why...i barely have there the 55th Division (well, part of it) and some weak RTA divisions...he's abbandoning everything but Rangoon....(see map)...strange!
We're almost ready with the shippings at Singa, but with the situation in Burma changed so much in the last week i'm reconsidering my plans...won't need anything more than 2 additional divisions to clear out the whole Burma theatre...
200k supplies and 200k fuel arrived at Truk, along with 5 base forces, 7 AA units, 1 more air HQ and 2 Naval Guard Units. All these men will secure the Solomons/NG sector and start building it up (Lunga and Tulagi are already 1-1 AF-port levels).
An Amphib TF has just left Kendari and will attack Koepang in 4 days.
Another Amphib TF, with 3 regiments, will leave Kendari tomorrow, escorted by a strong SCTF group, and will land at Kalidati in order to speed up the conquest of Java.

In China we're making very good progresses towards Sian. Now we are in the plains!!! the 1st army managed to finally breakthrough even with his back threatened by 3 enemy corps (badly battered) that managed to come out of the woods. Already 2 Indipendent Bdes are taking care of the problem. 5 Tanks units are on march in order to exploit this opening...while not less than 18 enemy units are trapped in the woods north of Nanyang...if he doesn't flee fast he will be lost!! The southern perimeter of this forming HUGE pocket is held by 2 Japanese armies, composed of 40,000 men each (stacking limit), while at Ankang we already have 1 division, 1 SNLF unit, 1 Indipendent Regiment and 5 tank units...enough to hold and also enough to send more units to threaten his flanks at Sian
The Paras are pushing towards the interior lines at Puchen (north of Ichang), where only a tiny base force is facing us in the main road...another full army is arrining on foot, composed by 2 Inf Divisions and several minor units.
In the South we're slowly clearling our interior lines...

Overall a good turn, despite some disappointing seatbacks.
In China things look bright. It seems that he's reinforcing Sian. 2 more units are spotted today...more than 80,000 men there...but the terrain and the arrival of my tanks can make his life really nasty if he wants to defend it...
On the mountain road the 2 Bdes that are following the 1st army managed to defeat the 3 corps that got out of the pocket...they didn't retreat and that probably means they have no way out...so they will be destroyed there...2 HQs and 3 Corps...not bad!
Tomorrow we'll attack with the Mongol HQ, just south of the 1st Army, widening the gap and opening a new path towards Sian.
Tomorrow we'll also attack with our paras on the road from Pucheng...i wanna arrive at the rivercrossing south of Chungking and cut one of the 2 major roads that connect Changsha area to Chungking.

In Burma we easily conquered Rangoon today.

In Java we exchanged good blows with his P-40s sweeping from Batavia at Kalidati, but then our betties from Kendari decided to attack unescorted his PT boats at Sosarbaja...[:o]11 betties lost with their priceless pre-war pilots[:o]....

The 12th of Feb is an important date for the Empire: Singapore fell with 55k enemy men!!!
The worst part is that EVERY SINGLE facility in Singa is damaged...i'll need sooooo many supplies to repair them[:o]

Repairing LI anywhere is practically never worth the supply expenditure. You will need almost 3 years to return 1000 supply/point investment. Repairing HI or refineries is about whether you can affort to expend supply to save fuel (both HI production and refinery capacity in Home Islands exceed oil sources capacity already, you need any extra only to process oil into fuel and then HI points locally, thus not burning fuel when transporting them). Repair shipyard in Singapore, though, might well justify a big expansion.

Thanks Fatr. In fact i'm not repairing LI...only HI (usefull imho) and naval shipyard (never have enough of them)!
 
We landed at Timor but Brad ambushed us with the ducth bombers escorted by P-40s coming from Java...we shot down 6 enemy planes losing oonly 1 oscar on LRCAP from Kendari. We lost a transport, but the troops are ashore...hopefully we won't need to reinforce it...we'll see tomorrow how the shock attack goes.
 
We started to load at Singapore the 4 reinforced regiments (mainly belonging to Guards division and 56th Division) that will land at Java and finish the Java campaign . Tomorrow we'll start to load the divisions bound for Burma.
We'll also paradrop at Akyab tomorrow...wanna get the whole Burma asap. The divisions that will come here will finish the last resistances there and then will push towards Western China.
 
In China the Mongol army managed to push back the enemy corp on the dirty road south of the mountain one (where the 1st Army is marching towards Sian). In the latter road, the 2 Indipended Bdes that are following the 1st army managed to destroy 2 enemy corps that came out of the pocket...we're clearing our way!
 
At Sian things are moving...enemy troops moving south and north from it...wanna reinforce the southern perimeter?!!??!? he's risking a lot here imho...
 
We're also almost ready to circle Yenan.
