Well while we are dicussing the finer mechanics of home rules .... PH is coming forth with one of the best plans I have noted in a long while for achieving instant victory. As per the PH thread .. a 24k/6k points ratio on Jan 1, 1943 is not only doable .. but is well underway ...

More importantly, they both appear to be having fun whatever rules they are using. I think that PH has to keep him on his heels for longer than might be possible. We shall see.

Reading CR's latest post, is something leaking from here?

RE: War & Peas from the peanut gallery - No CR or PJH please.
Given the type of guys CR and PJH are, I doubt someone is leaking anything from here. I'm sure that had someone said anything, even accidentally, it would have been disclosed by either of them quickly.

Nah. CR explains why & when he wrote that.ORIGINAL: JeffK

RE: War & Peas from the peanut gallery - No CR or PJH please.
It only takes a small comment to sow the seed, hopefully its CR's fertile imagination.
But it supports the many comments that CR & PJH have different approaches to the no HR game.
1 comment he makes is the ability for a LCU to move without regard to its supply status, maybe a fixable problem though maybe movement allowed at 25-50% of normal as men did perform amazing treks despite the supply situation.
So this game situation is CR turning Socatra into the new Gibraltar of the East and PJH waiting back around Chittagong for a counter attack?
PJH setting up a trap in the Aleutians that for some reason CR seems to be attracted to.
CR defending South Eastern OZ and PJH scutlling around Northern Australia with his Sardine can Regiments.
Leaves a big cap between Hawaii & New Zealand that neither are talking about.

Almost enough to make you think that's where both are planning for the big action...ORIGINAL: JeffK

Ironic, the two areas that CR has specifically said he is willing to accept risk at (NZ and PH), are the same areas PZH has no interest in.
Just when I get the hang of a game, I buy two more...
RE: War & Peas from the peanut gallery - No CR or PJH please.
I find it interesting that Canoerebel is always on the lookout for the huge knockout blow, voluntarily giving up huge amounts of territory without a large fight, enabling PJH to get all that stuff on the cheap. This has allowed PJH to advance relatively far in every theater, actually putting auto-victory on the table without any real large-scale risks/offensives being taken by PJH so far.

RE: ******* from the peanut gallery - No CR or PJH please.
If PJH gets an auto-victory will they fight on?
Or is that game?
Or is that game?
RE: ******* from the peanut gallery - No CR or PJH please.
I dont believe CR is playing for points?
Especially in Scen 2, all advantages are with the JFB in 1942, I would suggest auto victory irrelevant for 1942 as its the smash and grab time for the JFB and only the JFB can get an AV, they can takes risks knowing the abiity of the AFB to react is limited and make strategically stuoid but AV grabbing moves, if the JFB can hold on his gains through 1943 he probably deserves the AV.

RE: ******* from the peanut gallery - No CR or PJH please.
I was only asking because unless both sides agree that points and auto-victory are important, I see no reason for either side to pursue them. So I'm hoping that CR and PJH have discussed whether or not the game will end if an auto-victory is reached.
RE: ******* from the peanut gallery - No CR or PJH please.
Canoerebel always plays with an eye towards auto defeat/victory. He usually doesn't explicitly state that he is playing to achieve an Allied auto victory but he does regularly state his concern to avoid achieving an auto Allied defeat.
He has no need to regularly harp on about an Allied auto victory, and the means by which it can be accomplished, because he is supremely confident that provided he avoids an auto defeat in 1943, an auto Allied victory later on (or a manual surrender by his opponent) is inevitable.
This particular match is the follow up to his previous unsatisfactory match. There he had specifically advertised for a Japanese opponent who would stretch him by intentionally going for an auto Japanese victory.
By his actions it is clear that his opponent is striving for an auto Japanese victory. It would therefore be quite disingeneous for either player to subsequently claim they are not playing with VPs very much in mind.
Contrary to the general "wisdom" dispensed in the forum, I find nothing wrong with a player bearing in mind VPs. Indeed a proper understanding of VPs and auto victory conditions can greatly assist a player in formulating plans and objectives which emulate real world strategy and tactics. It is important to not confuse VPs with player actions which are only possible due to game code factors.

I hope auto-vic is in play. That'll make for a much more exciting match in the coming months.
Who's to say in real life the Allies wouldn't have capitulated to the 1933 status quo (i.e. no embargoes on oil and steel, Japan withdrawal from PI, Malaya and DEI, but allowed to mess around China/Indochina as it saw fit) if the Japanese had steamrolled?
Cheers,
CC

CR is now talking about points and AV, where did that come from.

I could be wrong JeffK, but it sounds like u fear a breach of ops sec. U semi mentioned some thing similar a few days ago too. If that is incorrect ignore the following. If not.
I have no idea about if ops sec is being breached, but there can be some other reason for his mention of things.
About the HR discussion u can see in his thread how he accidently entered this thread but only "reading" Dan Nichols top post on page 2. Then a flurry of messages happened u can sorta see that by count thread and so on in the AAR forums. He has earlier told he follows that sorta thing in opponents AARs. Its not that hard to imagien that he deduced from that some discussion happening in this thread about HR. Especially after Bullwinkle58 and i with a clarifying question asked about HRs in his thread. I just mean that could explain his HR posts.
About VP count. It has been asked about in his thread by several ppl recently for example post 963, page 33.
I can understand a fear of breached ops sec. It would really suck. Just saying before any conspiration theories starts. There are signs that points to CRs deducing powers just being in used. If that is the case its more that ops sec gets "breached" by type of question ppl asks in his thread. Btw the same reason i rarely post in AARs.
Kind regards,
Rasmus

RE: ******* from the peanut gallery - No CR or PJH please.
I really hope no one did, but CR has openly and routinely discussed Auto Victory in all his other threads, and as Alfred noted CR was actively seeking an opponent that would push him to the wall, so one would expect him to discuss it eventually. Hopefully the timing is just a coincidence.

Actually I start mentioning autovictory in CR's thread right after PH invaded Alaska before all this chatter started ...pointing out the density of the VP's and the potentional to build up ports and airfields with very high base multipliers .. I think it was a matter of time for everybody to understand this although PH has recently clarified his quite obvious intentions .... [;)]
BTW) My posts were understandingly mainly ignored by the masses .. now it is become far more obvious to all parties as the accumulation of the strategy has come to full fruition. As the plan came to fruition at what point did you all come to this conclusion and this conclusion was a result of an opsec violation? On Jan 01 1943? Now at athe ratio being keenly into full focus ... I suspect this particular possiblity has smacked CR in the face ...Wow its about May 19K/8K and Singers is yet to fall .... I am not sure what experinced player in this forum would not come to the conclusion that AutoVictory might not be possible ..

I see posts 995 & 996 in CR's AAR as being a breach, it only needs little comments like those to paint a picture. (I almost did that for a living)ORIGINAL: Walloc

Well its not that i necesarrily disagree, but there are cuircumstances in this case. I would say that the ops sec breach part that has to do with that HRs are being discussed in this AAR. CR alrdy knew that cuz he had been in this thread and mentions all he saw was HR discussions. It seems like u unaware of that it was CR that accidently toke that genie out of the bottle. So u should avoid the reference yes, but it doesnt matter as CR was alrdy aware of the issue and thread discussion in this very particular case. As too the places and units mentioned i agree, but wasnt me that put it on the table. U will hafta talk to Bullwinkle58 about that. I purposely avoid any references to any places or the like.
If u think that those posts overall breach ops sec, not that, that justifies any thing, i could point to the first 100 posts that asks to specific locations and or forces and the importance of that. That gives CR if deducing powers is good enough much more to go on.
Kind regards,
Rasmus
