UV no longer at EB Game World?!
Today, I was looking at the EB Games web site (www.ebgames.com) and it appears they have completely removed Uncommon Valor from its web site!
The only Matrix game available to order is Starships Unlimited.
Did something happen to cause its removal?

I would guess that the reason it was removed is because they sold out and we have not yet been able to restock them. I'm sure it will be back when they receive the next shipment. In the meantime, check our other dealers.

Actually, I got v2.0 for Christmas and I've been having a blast playing it.
I browse EB's site from time to time and read some of the comments. It worried me that it had suddenly disappeared and I thought your sales department might want to check in to it.
IMHO, it doesn't make any sense at all if an item is not in stock to cause it to disappear. Have the idiots never heard of "Backorder"?!
It is doing Matrix a disservice (when they are taking some of the sales %) to have your item "disappear" from its catalog simply because in is "temporarily out of stock".
Just my two cents, and a nickel more!

You guys seem to be doing alot of selling out of the game.
Is it really doing that well or are you just making small printing runs of say 1k games?

Slick,
We'll definitely look into it. I was making an educated guess, appreciate the heads up.
Reiryc,
Believe me, these are not small print runs. We're selling faster than we can print. Each run allows the next one to be a bit larger.

I would have gladly bought the game direct from the web site here, but you've been sold out.
Luckily I got one from Chips and Bits and delivered in two days (helps they are in VT and I'm in RI).
Hopefully that new distrubiting alliance will also help. And increased sales means increased capital to increase your production facilities to print even more copies to addict people to.
It is great seeing UV at my local EB store.
Keep up the good work!

Wow !
Well if I remember right, at first sales of UV weren't where you guys had hoped....but it seems in the last 3-4 months, sales are just booming.
I would guess they have gone beyond expectations since continuous print runs need to be larger and larger.
I push this game on most forums I regularly post at. I know I can account for atleast one sale from that. Hopefully more will continue to buy whether online or in retail.

I hear what you're saying, but...

If you are going to buy via the web, its best for us to have you buy directly form us.
I understand what you are saying about web-based sales vs. others. I have an EB Game World store just five miles from my home (bad thing, very, very bad). This is where I picked up UV. They only got one game in the shipment. I felt like I had hit the lottery.
Upon talking to the store manager (trying to suck up), he said that the database the store uses to order is the same database that runs the web sites. SO, if that's true, if it is NOT on the web site then NO store can order it. That would seem to me to screw Matrix big time.
I'm down here blowing the horn! I just wanted somebody to make sure everything is ok.

Still not on the web site!
Well, I've been checking on and off and EB Games still has yet to put Uncommon Valor back on their web site.
Did they screw you guys or something?

Easy Slick, you're gonna blow a gasket
I've attempted to pick up UV at various times since last July. I always seemed to hit it at the wrong time in between production runs. I finally got lucky a little while back.
It sounds to me as if sales is doing quite well. Just having the box on the retail shelves alone increases the word of mouth factor.
Anyway, if you need to vent - go get the Frenchman on the H4 boards. If he's still there. I can't remember his name right off - but you know of whom I speak.
EDIT: STANSON!

A couple weeks ago I pushed EBGAMES.com pretty hard for an answer when I first saw this post (As I bought my copy from them). I got it escalated a bit before they stopped talking to me.
Can't say whether I am correct or not but the gist I got was.. They sold out and do not choose to carry the product any longer(no reason given), thus why it does not even appear on their site any longer and will continue not too.
I don't know anything about how one would get their products in a store or on a website such as EBGAMES, but I imagine there is a point where it no longer benefits MATRIX to let large sums of UV boxes part at such low costs and rather just continue to offer them direct only. Even if the result is an overall lower number of boxes sold.
Either way I'm sure Matrix is well on top of the issue of selling their own products in the best ways possible. It would be pretty foolish for that not to be a top priority and Matrix has hardly proven to be a foolish company thus far..
First off, I was able to get it via my local store the first time they got it in stock and I’ve had it since Christmas.
I’m sure Matrix knows the full situation. I just wanted them to know that if they are still telling people that it can be purchased via EB Games then they (EB) are screwing Matrix in advertising. I know it benefits Matrix for all the sales to be direct (no middle man). EB Games had UV prominently displayed on their web site and even had numerous reviews posted, then poof! I just see that as a piss-poor way to do business. “Ok, we’ll give you a shot, but you have to sell 1,000,000 copies in 24 hours in order for us to continue doing business.”
EB still has Starships Unlimited on their web site. So, I guess that when they finally sell out of that title they will drop it as well.
Meanwhile, I’ll just sit right here an wait for WITP to allow pre-ordering…
