Grand Campaign

Time of Fury spans the whole war in Europe and gives players the opportunity to control all types of units, ground, air and naval. Not only that, each player will be able to pick a single country or selection of countries and fight his way against either the AI or in multiplayer in hotseat or Play by E-Mail. This innovative multiplayer feature will give player the chance to fight bigger scenarios against many opponents, giving the game a strategic angle that has no equal in the market. The game uses Slitherine’s revolutionary PBEM++ server system.

Grand Campaign

Post by gamer78 »

Hi
Purchased the game 5 months ago but still didn't try the GP. Waited for some patches.
Thinking of controlling all the Axis countries. How is the AI? And does it need some house rules.
And is there any critical bugs left in the game?
Thanks.

I just loaded the 1.02 patch and it looks pretty good quite a bit of an upgrade overall, so I recommend playing using 1.02.

I have played a few games and the AI is pretty weak (it’s worth a note that all strategic WWII games have pretty weak AI) Playing on Hard with Allies on Easy may give a challenge, but a good player will find even this too easy. Unfortunately setting the opposition to Very Easy essentially yields a Blizzard of units and the game really is just more like shoveling snow than fighting. Setting yourself to Very Hard is pretty unplayable as well, as you essentially never see any PP's. A change which would give the AI a chance without skewing the economics is to give the AI increased unit effectiveness (this could be ‘modded’). The AI has a few other 'cheats' already like instant unit builds etc. but once the game starts to get outside the historical track the AI logic starts to breakdown a bit.

As you are new try Playing GE and IT on Normal with US USSR UK and FR on Easy. I expect a beginner would have a pretty challenging game at that setting. If this is too easy set GE and IT to Hard.

You may also consider a abstaining from an invasion of the UK (US also) as the AI really doesn't know how to defend against those.

Have Fun
