Staff points requirements of a unit?

The development team behind the award-winning games Decisive Campaigns: From Warsaw To Paris and Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive year and theater of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue simulates the German drive to Stalingrad and into the Caucasus of the summer of 1942, as well as its May preludes (2nd Kharkov offensive, Operation Trappenjagd) and also the Soviet winter counter-offensive (Operation Uranus) that ended with the encirclement of 6th Army in Stalingrad and the destruction of the axis minor armies. With many improvements including the PBEM++ system, this is a release to watch for wargamers!

Staff points requirements of a unit?

Post by Frido1207 »

When assigning units to another HQ, i can see the spare staff points of a HQ (if any), but where to see
how many staff points a unit requires, to not exceed the HQ´s command capacity?

Playing Kharkov, don´t know how this is handled in the larger scenarios.

thx in advance.

IMO, you can not.
If you can save, try and see.
If you can not save, you just have to feel it, in advance.
For example, if the S:T is 1.5 and the HQ has already 3 full divisions under its control and you want to link it an other full division, you can guess that the new S:T will be around 1.1, so that's good.
(Staff/3=1.5 ==> Staff=4.5 ==> Staff/4=1.1)

Vic,

I've wondered about this myself. Can you explain how to calculate the S:T ratio before attaching another unit to a Corps HQ? I would hate to suffer a 25% reduction in readiness, use some of a general's command points AND overload the corps HQ.
