New Extended Map

Post by US87891 »

New Extended Map uploaded to the Babes site. Mike Osterhaut did a yeoman job of making it more simple and easy to use.

New changes are to the Bouganville/Solomons area that split Shortlands from Buin. And it institutionalizes the new Pacific Islands sizes and SLs that people have been playing with since 10/11. Nothing new to see except in the Solomons.

Got rid of the confusing directions to ABs Ext Map. That was two generations ago and isn't relevant to what there is now.

New scenarios, with the latest tweaks and the latest bases, coming later this week.

One question.
Is there a problem if I install the map, if I have a game started with that scenario.

Greetings.

It was brought up recently in an AAR that Diego Garcia is an atoll with a huge stacking limit. With the Extended Map in DBB it seems the limit is 40,000. Is this intentional? Or should it be more in line with other atolls?

Thanks Mac.

Totally intentional. Just take a look at DG on Google Maps. Even 40,000 is a stretch, but one must do what one must do.

Matt -

It's Late Saturday Night Labor Day Weekend. I took a month off from AE to learn two other excellent games, as I knew that Scn 28Cv11 was out soon. Have just unzipped and set up a new Babes AE separate install (the only way to go).

The map is beautiful, Gents. And, if I understand correctly, every base has it's own revised stacking limit. Plus so much more that is under the hood.

As with many others, I have spent hours modding and playing AE. Time to start from scratch and get on it again, have learned so much but really just beginning to have a deeper appreciation of the sheer awesomeness of AE / Babes.

So - have Monday off, will begin Sunday morning. Life is good.

Thanks. For every hour I put in playing or modding, the Babes Team et al do three or four - or more.

I am most grateful.

Happy Mac
