Fleets to intercept inbound enemy fleets

Post by szabferi »

Since I can't deal with every sneaking inbound enemy fleets manualy, I decided to leave it to AI to manage some of my fleets.

So I set:

engagement range: neraby targets
range: nearby systems
posture: attack
and sent the fleets to the border conflict zone in the deeb space, then turned AI ON.

War started, enemy fleets were inbount and my lovely fleet supposed to intercept the enemy did absolutely nothing.

So:
- any idea what did I wrong?
- is it possible to intercept enemy fleets in the deep space at all?
- how should I set my big interceptor fleet to defend my 2-3 system close to each other?

(currently my strategy is to garrison fleets of 3-4 strong ships / system, and I lock them to stay in system by setting Range: System and Stance: System targets)
