A sub sinks an xAK with troops on board.  Invasion fleet makes it to Wotje and lands the troops.  Jap DMS's sink an xAK and a Jap SAG sinks 4 xAKs trying to run.  Jap DD finds a mine the hard way and is reported to have heavy damage.  Our CD guns don't hit a thing.[:-]  KB  sends bombers after Wotje's port and sinks our ACM.  They also attack my DDs and puts a bomb on one.  Kates attacked Maloelap's port unescorted and we shot down several of them.  28th ID shock attacks.  Look at the combat report

Good job men!!

Now should I attack or just wait.  I don't know.  I need to get the turn.  I know Koniu is not happy about this.  He is also holding onto the turn to decide his next moves.  I am owndering if I should bring in my DBs and go after his ships.  I know I can sweep my own hex if I can get some F4F4's into Maloelap.  I can probably fight my way thru his CAP and get to his ships but is it worth it now.  His division is done now and poses no real threat to me right now.

Ok, guys. I need some advise. I want to attack th28th at Wotje. But I have read in other threads to hold back. There are 9k worth of troops left at Wotje. I am going to attack shipping in the area by air. Koniu said he was going to stay and fight. I know he has some AV left. My IR took the brunt of the attack. 84 AV left, Inf Bn has 38 AV, and the TD unit is at full strength.

I would not attack. Your adjusted Av was only 36, less than 20% of your unadjusted AV. You have negative modifiers across the board. Just sit and defend with your LCUs. I don't know enough about your situation to say anything about aircraft or ships.
I think that the two obligations you have are to be good at what you do and then to pass on your knowledge to a younger person

I know to much to comment as I read Koniu's explanation seeking thread, however suffice it to say the game engine will penalize one severly for not reading the manual (and Alfred's comments [;)]). While I find the manual merely a guide to what can happen, if read (in my case reread many times) clues emerge which hint at what not to do.[:D]

That shock attack was nuts! He had better advice than that. I would guess he has no disrupted combat squads because he has no more combat squads. Nice moral boost for the Allied High Command. The book on atoll attacks is the mix, prep, command, and support, not size. There is plenty of AARs to support this. I would break down the 28th and pull 2/3s out when practical and replace with defense Bn's and anti tank units (M10s) if you have them yet. Then have the unit combine again elsewhere. Can you post a map of the Marshalls? I have left them alone in favor of a left upper cut envelopement (Terry don't read this!). Eventually I will want a safe mooring spot there to transfer supplies west and extend the search ring, as well as advance the sub bases but there is just to much blue water between them and the HI to operate freely. IMHO. Well, I think you may get a Banzai attack now, which I have not seen in an AAR yet.

Kurt:  I don't know what to expect next.  I figured he would of started to pull the 28th out to rebuid it.  No he shock attacks me.  I do have M10's present at Wotje, they are in the TD unit present.  I don't have enough Marine def Bns yet.  I just got one on the east coast on the last turn.  My CD unit is a wreck.  All of its guns are destroyed or disabled.  My supples are almost gone.  I need him to leave so I can bring in more supplies.  Koniu did say that he would tell me what went wrong with his invasion.  That is one good thing with us.  We will share info with each other.

I just looked and can get the Midway Def Bn. I haven't upgraded it yet. Looks pretty good AV 60 some M24 tanks a few 7 in guns and soem 5 in guns. I canpull out 2 units for this one. Might save me on stacking costs. Koniu didn't send me the turn today. I figure he's taking time to figure out what he's going to do next.

My 2 cents, recon Eniwetok, if lightly defended sprinkle marines and cook Japs. Taongi, brand new torpedo plane and seaplane base. Two thirds of his reinforcement sea lanes closed without IJNAF escort. Then you have to reconcile yourself with TRUK. I'm having a hard time with this beast of a base. I had some advice it held some big guns, lottsa flak etc.. Its TRUE![X(]. Anyway, long and short of it, the small atolls are for tender based Ops for me, nothing more. Since he has done you the favor of impaling himself on that little reef, show him how to do it right at Einwetok if he gives you the chance. I would love to have that search arc! Did he miss any of those little islands to the NW of the Gilberts within B25 range of Truk? It's early for you, but if I get the airfield suppressed at Truk (B29 practice range if all else fails) I'm ready to move on Ponape, and get the groups of B24s involved in this war practicing in Suva.

Best Regards,

I have units prepping for Eniwetok.  A 2 Inf Rgts and supporting units.  I need to start prepping an port svc Bn for Eniwetok.  My problem is that he has stationed the KB at Truk for now.  I think I can draw off the KB with invasions at Koepang or Tagula island.  Makin is the only one that he has not taken yet.  I have units prepping for it now.

Truk, I plan on using it as a bombing range when I get to it.

love your new motto.

1st Nov

KB heading towards Truk
MKB unknown

Sian
Japs bomb our LCUs and kill 400.

Wuchang
P38s sweep and find Tojos and Oscars.  We lose 3 P38s for 25 Oscars and 14 Tojos.  Koniu was not very pleased with this mission.

Coco's
He bombs again for lil damage.

Lots of sub action today.  Dutch sub off Java takes a beating from an E boat.  Had one sub attack on surface fireing all its TTs and not one went boom.  Need to look at the replay again and count the number.

Wotje
28th ID is gone.  We won the battle.  Now the 29th is prepping for Wotje.  I am going to bring in some supplies rest my troops.  I might replace my CD unit with a Marine Def Bn.  I figure I have around 3 months before hes back with a new invasion force.  But I should be able to launch a one maybe two ops by then.  Maybe this will throw off his plans.

Hope Koniu gets the machine, or a machine up and running soon. I thought I lost mine twice this year. Once to a storm and once to a cat whom must have slept on the keyboard all day[:@]. I bought an HP Pavilion (Best Buys) desk top for $340 just for this game. I only use it for EZ Pass, my golf club, and this. Today I got an email from Christian Mingle. While I was baptized etc. I doubt the oraganization would desire me as a member, not the least of all because I am already "spoken for". Where in &^%$ did they get my email address?? I'm betting with their system of membership drives its just as likely to hook up a jew and a zen budist. They should call it: "send us the money and we'll send you 1100 emails a week".

While we have a break in the action.  I want to update everyone about the second shock attack at Wotje.  Koniu said that he ordered the troops to load on transports but forgot to click do not unload so they unloaded and shock attacked again.  Ouch.  He did save the division so I will see it again.

Christian mingle a girl I went to nursing school found a guy on their and got married.  She is far from being a Christian.  I won't be getting a membership email from them.  I am on the naughty list.

Koniu is suppose to take his computer to the shop today.  While the game is on pause we are roleplaying the WNT and LNT's.  I don't know if we will mod a game accordingly but it sounds like fun.

I'm getting old too.  Just came in from running 3 miles and I lost my butt somewhere out there.
