I gave up on TV a few years back when more and more of the US crap started showing on most channels here in Sweden. No offense meant but...some things that passes for entertainment in USA is quite appalling. This kind of proves my point! [:D]
If I watch TV its probably going to be BBC knowledge. Or a HBO series.

There is so much crap on cable anymore..all I care for is ESPN, ESPN2, Duck Dynasty, Chiefs/Royals ballgames, and the Military Channel.

Ditto. Except for Duck Dynasty (whatever that is) and the Oakland A's / Dallas Cowboys substitutions in the above respective places.
And Mythbusters ,Chopped and Mad Money. [:D]

Living without television is a great blessing.
I'm sure we would all chip in for a 2 mile extension cord. [:D]

I will admit, the 10 days in Canada with out cell phone or tv was pretty amazing. No distractions, just pure family/friend time.

I think we can definitively point back to this as the beginning of the downfall of Western Civilization.

Naw. Personally, I go back to M.C. Hammer's parachute pants and "Can't Touch This".

How about Men at Work ("Vegemite Sandwich"), Billy Ray Cyrus ("Achy Braky Heart"), John Anderson ("Swingin") and Wham! ("Wake Me Up") as clear indications that the apocalypse was upon us even in the 1980s?

Not only is Honey Boo Boo famous she is the highest rated show on cable TV in 19-49 demographic. Higher than CNN , Fox News, convention coverage, sports anything else. I must admit, I do like some junk TV and have some guilty pleasures I just won't mention here. I do have some highbrow habits, but what I watch on TV is not amongst them. CR, for some reason I am surprised you even own a TV [:)].

Canoe, the most assured sign of the coming apocalypse was Right Said Fred.... being to sexy for his shirt! And it was a '({["popular"]})' song.

Was losing the America's Cup your reason for not liking "I come from a land down under!!"

Don't know if this is really a sign, seeing as how we've already lived through The Jackson Five and Sonny & Cher. (At least The Partridge Family had a good sound, even if their songs were almost as sugary as The Archies.)

Miley Cyrus and the Kardashians should be a huge sign if there ever was one..

At least Miley Cyrus has some decent pipes and can carry a tune. WTF have the Kardashians ever done to merit their fame? I swear, guys, I gotta get a better agent. [:D]ORIGINAL: jeffk3510

No. I about lost my appetite when I saw the video. A man *less* attractive than Mick Jagger as a lead singer for Men at Work? Who'da thunk it possible?

RE: OT - Georgia's most notable resident
I have no ability to judge male beauty, but according to many of my female friends, they think Mick Jagger is attractive. I take their work for it.
I had no idea who Honey Boo Boo was when my SO first mentioned her ratings win for the Wednesday overnights. A bunch of curious people must have tuned in on a very slow TV night. I note the program didn't land in the top 25 rated cable shows for the entire week.
TLC used to have the occasional interesting program, but it seems to all be exploitative reality TV now.
