Oops if it's Eugenio di Savoia than it's already been guessed (sort of) - see Prinz Eugen above.
warspite1

Its not Eugenio di Savoia - but if it was then Prinz Eugen (a completely different ship) would not have counted!
Ah, but if it had been the EdS, then Prinz Eugen (of course a different ship) could also have been a correct answer and at the normal halving of the prize pool per hint provided, would still have garnered a cool 62,500 pounds !! (How come I don't have that funny 'L' symbol on my keyboard?) I'd have even of settled for an extra halving per correct answer. [;)]

Cheating now, Garibaldi?
warspite1

Is the correct answer. After the armistice, Garibaldi was one of the cruisers used to patrol the Atlantic.
I had to get a magnifying glass to read the script of the counter names off the computer!!!!

You did. I was giving my comment as a form of encouragement, as the last quiz - Garibaldi - was a little obscure.

Yes. I really thought I nailed the answer with Duca D'Aosta.[:)]

But it turns out I lack knowledge about Italian leaders.
