This is good news. I've looked often at picking his games up - and I may well do so now.

Can I ask - and I'm only asking out of curiosity as it's not a massive concern to me - will this game come in line with your other games in terms of DRM? I believe there was a restriction on installs or something (was it 2?) and I guess de-activation was required etc etc...so - is that still in place or can I install on PC and laptop and work comp? And is there activation past Matrix Games normal serial number?

Yes, the previous DRM is gone and replaced with our usual DRM system. The free update will remove the online activation DRM for customers who previously purchased Scourge of War as well.

Cool - thanks.

I was a fan of the previous title (2nd Manassas by Mad Minute Games??) - so I might just squeeze some money out the coffers this month and pick this one up.

Will previous owners be able to register their existing games at Matrix or only people who actually purchase it here from this point forward?

Do you mean you registered your games here? If so, that is great news.

Erik, really well done. I was nervous about this merge, as I have had the original for quite a while. Ran your update with no problem and the game seems better than ever. I had a saved game which picked right back up. I was able to register with Matrix using my original activation code. This is how things should be done. Looking forward to adding Antietem and Pipe Creek !!!
Thank you guys very much, Jim

Thanks everyone, glad to hear you are happy.

Chancellorsville is also on the way and I can say that we will have an updated full color printed manual for that release (which will be available to order separately as well).

Lot of positive feedback here for the merger. My first report back at SOW HQ will be well received. Looking forward to long and productive relationship.

The installs for first time users appear to be going without a hitch. However, our present subscribers are experiencing a myriad of glitches, primarily the problem with their game reverting to demo mode. Norb is suggesting regedit solutions, hopefully a module can be written with the install to overcome this issue. This has been a suggestion on the forum. One of your tech guys might want to check out our forum, and give us some help on the transition.

Despite these initial bumps in the road, our forum is in a flurry of positive excitement, especially with the elimination of the DRM...great move for SOW. No one's really negative or irate yet about the issues, for they know we'll come through with solutions. We avoid bad PR at all costs, it's always been our duty to have a satisfied and issue-free community.

Hi RedBugler,

Thanks for the vote of confidence. If there are any issues with the update installer, we'll work to get them fixed ASAP, hopefully tomorrow and upload a new update. I'll go take a look.

Really great news and something that Norb and co. deserve.
This is a truly great series with so many different challenges and replayablility and such excellent support.
With Matrix Games' level of marketing and Norbsoft's excellent software, this has got to be a winner all round.
I am really happy for Norbsoft and hope now that more of the wargaming masses are aware of SOW, that sales rocket!!
Congrats to all on a great move.
