Grafin,

I don't speak German-is Entscheidungs schlacht German for "absolute fantasy TOE"? If so, it's not that far from the mark...
No it means decisive ^^. Also the movie is about the Germans getting spanked by the British and the British getting spanked by the Italians. Yes, it is an Italian movie. That said this one is still better than a certain movie I wont mention.

Deceicive battle in Africa 1942

King Tigers at El Alamein !!!!!!!

But tbh I dont see a King Tiger. First tank is a Panther and the second looks more like a Pershing or so to me O.o

So many typical tanks for the North Africa theater......

I like the tank/motorbike - although I would imagine the recoil would hurt the rider's back a tad....and what if he forgot to duck?

Oh, and by the way, why does European history revolve around the French and such a limited timespan?

The Age of Voltaire (all the Durrant books in fact) is not really about France, but Europe. Some titles are taken from French history, but I have the impression they cover England in greater detail.

For French history of this era, and just in case John reads this, nothing beats Michelet's History of the French Revolution, and Chateaubriand's Memoires d'outre tombe. There is also a 19 volume History of France by Michelet which is probably the easiest reading history book I've read, and a perfect one for a young person. (And yeah, I'm pushing France, not that I have anything against other Europeans, mind you, well save the British and the Germans of course).

So, it's fantasy / sci-fi as a genre?

I imagine he'd get 'goosed' in that case.

Good point. Actually the rider looks to me like he forgot to duck the last time indeed.

It looks like someone noticed the cover is wrong and corrected the errors.

I also didn't realize that the Marines (like the one pictured at Iwo Jima above) were involved in Tobruk!
Well, not in the 20th century, at least. [8|]

It was OK. A 'meh' WWII film by my records.

That is a great movie. I always wondered why Jan Schanilec was snubbed for the best actor/cameo/death Oscar. The Oscars are rigged I say.[:D]

Well they corrected some errors but.... I mean surely they must have realised that Sherman tanks were not that small. How the hell does the Marine fit into one of those? Even the big one in front is way too small

I am dumber for having read these past few posts. [:(]
