It seems to be related to memory issue.

Could you please send us a mail to contac(at)aleajactaest-game.com with ;

DxDiag
General.opt files (AJE/Settings). This file has your serial in it. Do not make it public.

How do I do the DxDiag?

I should add that I left the game running while I slept for about 6 hours. Maybe a slow leak, if thats how these things go.

To make a DxDiag;

If you have windows xp, you get the dxdiag like this:

* Click on your "Start" button.
* Select "Run".
* Type "dxdiag" (without the quotes).
* Click "OK".
* A box called "DirectX Diagnostic Tool" should open.
* At the bottom of this window, you will find a button called "Save
All Information".
* Click this button.
* A box will pop up prompting you to save a file called "dxdiag.txt"
* Save this file to your "Desktop".
* Now you should see a text file called "dxdiag.txt" sitting on your
Windows desktop.

If you have windows vista, do like this:

* Click on your "Start" button.
* Write dxdiag in the search field.
* A box called "DirectX Diagnostic Tool" should open.
* At the bottom of this window, you will find a button called "Save
All Information".
* Click this button.
* A box will pop up prompting you to save a file called "dxdiag.txt"
* Save this file to your "Desktop".
* Now you should see a text file called "dxdiag.txt" sitting on your
Windows desktop.

I have had this happen as well. To help, I reduced the amount of memory made available to the game view the options in the game, reduced to 25%. Since then, I have only seen it happen once, before it happened a lot. Hoping there is an eventual fix, but you might want to try this for now.

I'll give it a try because I keep having them. Now let me see how I get to that setting again... Hmmm.

Thanks

mo reb

edit: Seems it is in the standard options screen. Here I go.

BTW, I have 8 gigs of DDR3. Since I am not very techy, I would assume that is getting on the lower sides of things and that a ram upgrade might render the map faster at its highest setting? Or is that not the issue?

not entirely sure how the memory works with this game, I would think 4-8 gb of memory for this type of game would be fine. Guessing must be some kind of memory issue with the game, especially since I own all their other games and have never seen this issue before.

Glad you found the option and let us know if it works.

Your amount of RAM is Ok as well as your Graphic Card specifications.

I have received your files and will answer you in a few minutes.

This has happened on TWO different computers. my desktop and laptop both computers are quad core 8 ram and nvidia graphics card.
It is Secnerio 5 i am controlling the side that is in rome. i think it happens on turn 3 or 4 when i am purchasing units. The first turn i buy a lot of units and spend all my money then on the turn where i get a lot of money i start to spend it all and purchase units. when i am almost done with purchansing units the game freezes and windows says the game has stoped working. Also i have notice that my screen scroll is very choppy and slow.
i dont know how to send differnt files. Oh also i think i am using the box that says 75 percent memory in the options.
if i have more time today i will try it with the 25 percent setting but i really dont like spending time with a game and it crashes.
Thanks Dave.

Often CTD or freeze has nothing to do with your configuration but can be related to UAC, AV or DirectX.

That is why we need your files (MAinLog (AJE/Logs), DxDiag, General.opt (AJE/Settings)).

Please send them to contac(at)aleajactaest-game.com if you want us ti help you.

Now I'm getting this when I start the game. Have to retry a few times before the game will load. Funny as Ive never had a problem with CDT on any other game I play, even other AGEOD titles.

i do not kow how to access or send those files. This prob has happend on TWO different computers at the same point in the games Secn 5 turn 30 or 4 after purchassing a lot of troops the games freezes and stops working. I dont think both the computers files' ie direct x and windows would be the same to make the program quit at the same point. I think it has something to do with purchasing a lot of troops ie more than 10 and less than 50. no other games on my computers stop working. good day

I have succesfully played after this point. Would those files still help or should I wait until it happens again?
