Allied HQ locations

Post by wga8888 »

HQ for South Pac, North Pac, and Central Pac all start in Pearl. It makes logical sense to send NoPac to Anchorage AK, South Pac to perhaps Suva Fiji. Is there a reason for not doing so or for not having them just start in these locations? SWPac starts in Brisbane or Syndey, should it not instead be in perhaps Noumea once some ground troops are there?

Hi,

I don't know for sure (and I'm too lazy to check) but I suppose those HQs/Commands didn't actually exist when the war started. They should arrive as reinforcements but since they are Command HQs that would probably complicate the code (AFAIK there are no Command HQs arriving as reinforcements on either side. They all start on the map).

The compromise on the Allied side has been to start them in Pearl Harbor. It's quite realistic since the manpower and the equipment had to be moved to Suva/Noumea or wherever you want them after the war started.

Send them where you think they'll do the best for you. Anchorage is good for NOPAC and Suva, Noumea for SOPAC,Brisbane, etc for SWPAC.

Keep CENPAC at Pearl because your CVs will go there and their fighter air groups will expand in size and change compositions as the war goes on. I noticed in my game with Steve this didn't happen until I moved CENPAC back to Pearl.

I never thought that doing an AAR would be so time consuming and difficult.
