Is winter, its cold and the Nazis (me) are ready to capture the warehouses of Vodka and Winter gear protected by nothing but a rag tag band of Ruskies(red):) The last of the schnapps has been doled out to the men and the tanks rumble onwards....

Mighty Katuysha's open up across the front but vicinity to a liquor warehouse makes good targeting nearly impossible missing the Germans judging by the casualty count. German luftwaffe flies two sorties scaring MCs. Soviet V V S flies a Il-2 sortie finding and damaging a German HQ failing to destroy it though but there will be another time. Soviet recon units advance across the front. No German troops are visible though presence of sone ATGs is known.

Cursing the Luftwaffe for all it is worth Hauptaman Deemon (though how a Hauptman got to command a battalion is unclear) Runs out of the HQ tent, as Sturmoviks dive in to attack, barely managing to rescue his keg of fine apfel Schnapps. Important Strategic documents however failed to make it out. There was nothing I could do:D

To add insult to injury those Luftwaffe drunkards fail to even dent a single russian tank after two more sorties. I decide they must be communoist agents.

On a lighter note I kill some biker dudes.

Soviet MCs drive German recon back in the south while securing middle tier vhexes. A large German armored column is spotted in the center and a pair of Il-2s make a run at it failing to destroy anything but delaying it somewhat. So far German forces appear to consist of MCs, skiiers, mix of Tigers and Stugs and ATGs. No German arty has made its existence known so Soviet HQ decided they are holding back trying to setup a good kill box.

Thats a negative there Soviet HQ. No German Arty in the vicinity. Do NOT I repeat do NOT hesitate to put all your infantry in one or two hexes.

When I get my turn, all the squads will be assembled for political preparation (polit podgotovka) to learn why Soviet tanks are so much better than Tigers and how to avoid direct contcat with those rotten Tigers.

"What the !@#$%%^ ? What idiot was in charge of security detail?" screamed Hauptman when a squad of partisans suddenly appeared from behind and attacked German HQ. But Germans are tough to crack and first assault failed. Partisans knowing their inevitable fate mixed in with the German HQ drawing op fire from nearby German 20 mm Flak position. "Somebody tell those idiots to stop firing at us... we can handle it... they are suppressing their own HQ... arrrgghhh", Hauptman kept screaming into the radio while partisans threw smoke around to draw more op fire from the Flak gun. The German HQ is still alive but well shaken up. That was the highlight of the turn, the rest was spent by Soviet MCs and skiiers chasing off their German counterparts.

"Shiesen Rus!" Mutters Hauptman Deemon as he personally cuts down 3 partisans with his MP. "As soon as we take the Vodaka Factory a "Disciplinary" expedition shall have to be organised to the nearby villages". The Shnaps Keg lies broken shattered by a partisan bullet. Angered by the Cowardly Attack on their Great Leader the German Kamfgruppe Springs into Action, and What action it is.

In the North Ski Squds and MCs fight against their Soviet Counterparts as a StuG climbs a hill it falls under fire from a Wulverine and promptly dispatches it.

In the Center MCs and Ski Squads are Chased away and a New Tiger Ace is born as 3 T-34s are turned into burning hulks by its great gun.

At the End of theTurn Nebelwerfers Open Up Causing minor Destruction and more than minor supression. The Luftwafe gets its act together and nails another t-34.

Soviets counter attack in the central and northern sectors taking out a Stug and Tiger in the middle and damaging a Stug making the crew bail. To let Herr Hauptman on a little secret, those M10 Wolverines' rounds go through Stug's front armor like knife through butter from a long distance so keep those Tigers handy. Actually that Tiger in the middle fell to a M10 also. Partisans make a successfull appearance yet again destroying an ammo truck in the north.

Pesky Partisans COntinue to cause trouble as Mortar rounds rain on former artillery positions.

SkiJaegers and StGs advance taking out 3 t-34s and some infantry and bikers. Luftwaffe shotes up another t-34s scoring 4 hits but no kill. Luftwaffe Pilots to be demoted to "t-34 distraction Duty" in special infantry regiments after battle.

The hill stretching from south to north in the middle of the map has been renamed from "Burnt T34" to "Where no Stug comes back from" 3 Stugs are burning. M10s take on a Tiger up north hitting it several times but the distance is too great for a terminal hit. Let's hope at least they damaged its cannon. Il-2 attack the armored column in the center moving clear in the open without any kills but they will be back

The Hill is once again renamed to "The burning of Russian Dead' as the German Army Continues its Push.

In the North Ski Infantry and Bikers are slaughtered and driven back by their German Counterparts. In the Center an overly Arrogant t-34 gets a 15cm shell for its trouble. And Further South a Wulverine is destroyed by a StuG as soviet infantry is slaughtered by SkiJaegers and halftracks.

Soviets counter attack in the north, destroying a couple of Stugs and chasing off some skiiers guarded by a Tiger which still remains standing but didn't open fire on approaching AFVs so it may be damaged, we'll find out next turn. Il-2 scores a Stug kill. And curious Stug in the central sector kills T-34 but falls to M10. Intel reports German flamers incoming. German HQ or whatever is left of it thinks that since they cannot get LOS on the vhexes they will attempt close comabt. Well, Soviets are ready for that.

Advancing in the north si the only option for now since there are many German 88mm AA's in the open south. Germans appear to be moving their 81mm mortars closer to the front line.

The Infantry Battle rages on, the germans retreting in the north and driving the Russians further back in the South. A t-34 is killed by a stug in the north and another dies to the luftwaffe

It has become the war of attrition. Soviets have map advantage in this game with most vhexes located closer to their side of the map separated in the middle by a ridge stretching from south to north. T-34 that previously retreated is 'encouraged' back into battle by the battalion commissar and scores a Stug kill, continuing moving forward it gets a head on terminal shot from a Tiger sitting near the killed Stug. M10 is brought in to finish the Tiger. Up north, the crew of the stubborn Tiger bails and is picked off by skiers. Central sector is mopped up of the remaining German crews and skiers. In the south, T-34 attempts to slow down incoming flamethrowers but doesn’t even score a hit. Il-2s fly a sortie against a HT/MG position in the center but fail to cause any visible damage.

Those Damned Russians are holding on to the hieghts as if they were thers:) The Innitiative Changes once again as the Germans strike to drive the Russkies from the heights (for what must be the 8th time). Skiers and MC once again Mix it up, though this time the Germans are supported by heavy MG42s and Halftracks. A StuG Kills a T-34 and the Luftwaffe accounts for two Wulverines.

Yet one more time the German attack is repulsed but at a dear cost. Soviets lost another m10 outdueled by a Stug in the south. Scores of German infantry are eliminated. Il-2 takes out a Stug in the central sector.

The Carnage Intensifies as German Flammenpanzers Rush Into the Battle. In the south the smell of coocked Human Flesh hangs in the air As at least two t-34rs and multiple infantry and crewmember squads are toasted. A StuG destroys a Wulverine, and the crewmembers are flamed to a crisp before they can manage to escape. German tankers well remember their comrades, killed by those nasty American Moptorised Plows. In the Center and North all is fairly quite.

After the Turn German and Russian artillery throw mortar shells and reactive mines into the fray as the luftwaffe Turns another Wulverine intoso much canned meat.

Well Germans finally managed to piss Soviets off by destroying most of its armor in previous turns. Remaining M10 in the south takes out one flamer. Soviet northern sector attacks across to the center with combination of skiers and M10s taking out a Tiger distracted by timely partisans, a halftrack and 88mm ATG that was left loaded onto its carrier so it had no way to even defend itself. Previous recon indicated a Stug hiding behind a nearby ridge. Various infantry elements charge Stug and flamers in the south failing to take anything out but at least suppressing them somewhat.
