Victory Points and Objectives

The development team behind the award-winning games Decisive Campaigns: From Warsaw To Paris and Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive year and theater of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue simulates the German drive to Stalingrad and into the Caucasus of the summer of 1942, as well as its May preludes (2nd Kharkov offensive, Operation Trappenjagd) and also the Soviet winter counter-offensive (Operation Uranus) that ended with the encirclement of 6th Army in Stalingrad and the destruction of the axis minor armies. With many improvements including the PBEM++ system, this is a release to watch for wargamers!

Victory Points and Objectives

Post by parmenio »

So I can see from the Victory Condition Report on the Voronezh scenario that I need 22 VP for a major victory and I can see from the Scenario Description that I'm expected to take Voronezh...

Are the coloured circles on a city an indication that it has VPs attached?

Kursk and Voronezh are blue - 10 VPs, others a vague green so 1 VP?

Or is it a factor of size of the town/city?

Are VPs accrued for inflicting casualties as per WITE?

Any help appreciated.

VPs are not accured for inflicting casualties only for the capture of towns and cites. The colored dots on cities indicate the logistical bonus they provide to supply delivery as it flows from OKH or Stavka through your supply network as follows:

White/gray = no logistical bonus
Yellow/gold = 10 AP logistical bonus
Blue = 20 AP logistical bonus
Red = 50 AP logistical bonus

The VP value assigned to towns and cites can be whatever the scenario desinger designates. I'm currently playing Uranus as the Soviets and light urban areas designated with white/gray dots are worth 1 VP, urban areas designated with yellow/gold dots are worth 5 VP, urban areas designated with blue dots are worth 10 VP and urban areas designated with red dots are worth 25 VP, but these values could be different in a different scenario.

Oh yeah! I forgot about the AP bonus for supply....although we are using the hardcore supply rules, so I will have to figure out what effect they have...whether they only affect the route from OKH to Army or the route from Army to Corp and Corp to unit as well....
