Thank you very much Goran. Just wonderful without all the dates. The map is much "cleaner" now.

Hi!
I would recommend to download from my site
Tga-files 1-10 again as I have changed 1 and 2 a bit and
file 10 Tga had for some strange reason only 1022*1022 pixels.
The file map was then slightly disturbed in connection with
neighbouring files. Sorry for the trouble.

Hi!
Planning map with integrated vegetation map. No change in game play.
With colour coded dates of occupation and names from some German operational maps. ( Easy to follow history and compare own play)
Added minefieds, possible routes through the bigger mountains and swamp areas, lighthouses and some more permanent minefields.
Added some rivers of importance, some railways and Minsk-Moscow highway( all these of course not "ingame")
Factories and manpower colour coded. Hitler and Stalin hq's. German OKH's noted with dates. Historical borders.
Soviet fortified areas with their numbers and built defence lines of more permanent type.

thanks goranw,

Very nice map; esp. when playing as the Germans! I like it without the dates that seemed a little too busy for me. Really a great job... vielen dank :-)

the 3 files are called pl-veg.

You can still of course download the version without dates.

Hi!
A more complete version.( this so far a jpg-version)
Still more similar to the German war maps based on the international World map in scale 1:1 000 000-
the so called "Operationskarten" -Allied " Situational map"
Its also easier to see the war armies movements on the map by following the dates.
(For example look at the German attack in the Caucasus area or the Soviet attack against Budapest in Hungary)
Dates are not estimated from illustrated war maps but from official dates from official Soviet, US and German sources.
Combined with a vegetation map.
Of course, as before, fully playable and no change in game play.
Probably the final version on my behalf.
Will change the interest to the very promising map WitW (and WitE2).

Goran,

In your latest map versions without dates the town or village 0-1-2 are showing up as gold dots. Even with this it is still the best looking WitE map out there.

Thanks for your opinion!

Another thing; Some are confused about the Zip-files.
1--22, 23--43 and 44--63 are the map with dates. Perhaps a bit cluttered but functional when compairing to history.
1-10, 11-21, 22-42 and 43-63 are the map without dates. Perhaps more aesthetic.

I have to agree with everyone that this looks really good. Great job indeed.

I have one small issue, I cannot appear to use it as the entire map appears glitched. I am running 0n 1680 X 1050 resolution and I suspect it could be a resolution issue but I do not have the time to qiuckly check as I am off to work.

Does not appear to be my resolution, so I am stuck with no idea what is wrong. I have been using red markus maps and I guess I will continue using those until someone can explain why Goranw's maps do not appear to work for me.

I do not have the Unit symbols installed that appear on Gorans maps, maybe that is the reason why they do not work?

However after looking at Gorans post above mine I see that red marcus maps are compatible?

I am lost, please help me get this working.

Hi!
Check that your map files have been unzipped correctly after download.
They should be 63 tga files with the size of 3 073 kb each.
Name the folder "Zoom2_nogrid".
Start the game with the option in "game preferences" not showing hexes.
Hopefully it will function. Otherwise we must think again.
Goran

added:
The original map has 7 maps with the size 3 079.
No 9,18,27,36,45 and 63.
Perhaps this could on some systems or resolutions give trouble???
Perhaps someone with tecknological competence could answer this??

Hi!
New version of the Operationskarte-Situation map. So far in jpg. Reworked in some historical battle areas.
More dates, names and rivers that will make it more easy to follow history.
As before nothing that changes game play. Just information.

Hi!
Regarding the "Operationskarte" with integrated vegetation map,
more names, some altered coastlines, rivers and occupational-dates.
You can now download the 63 playable tga-files.
They are at my site www.mannaberg.se in " Ny mapp" 1+2+3.
Download, collect into one folder and name that Zoom2_nogrid.
Keep the old one with a new suitable name as a reserve.
