RE: Horn of Africa - New scenario
You don't load your games to the scenario bank, how exactly are we supposed to get them and load them?
Favoritism is alive and well here.

cause the image file I use for the SFT units is larger than 10 MB and it will take more time than I have to decrease the image folder. If you would like to try this, shoot me an email and I will be more than happy to send it to anyone this way

RE: Horn of Africa - New scenario
the following regimes are asleep
Uganda
Congo
Djibouti
C.A.R. ( Central African Republic)
Neutral ( non-playable)
Arab Republic of Egypt
the following are playable ( Human only for now)
Ethiopia
Eritrea
Somalia
Kenya
Republic of Chad
Arab Republic of Yemen
Republic of South Sudan
Production:
The only location which can produce Political Points is the Capital city. Infantry and their support weapons can be produced in cities and the capital, towns only produce supplies and resources, but the later will probably change and the only thing which towns can produce will be supplies, Capitals and cities also produce supplies. Ports can only produce resources both ore and oil and vehicles to represent military aid. Political points I have left as normal. Now supplies for a nation such as Eritrea will be tight, so they can either produce supplies and a few infantry and support weapons but they will not be able to create a Large army. Their standing army after their war with Ethiopia in the 90's is 20-24 infantry divisions, 1 mech brigade and a commando division ( 3 brigades) and several militia units.
I have given each regime GHQ enough supplies to last several turns to start out ( to signfy stockpile of supplies) but eventually this will run low and by the time this happens they will have to either have won or gained enough territory and hold and be able to hold, otherwise their lack of supplies will spell their doom, or this is what I'm trying to accomplish here. Again if anyone wants a copy of this shoot me an email and i'll send out as soon as I can. thanks

That's *still* the case huh? A damn shame because the more scenarios the bank has the better.
Hope Vic gets this thing sorted out, maybe let his ISP set the max file to 20Mb or so...

well sucks as it does, that is how it stands for now. I just don't have the time to go through each image file and separate it out. So for the foreseeable future unless the MB upload size is increased my only option is via email unless someone can suggest a gamer site which is " free" and will allow one to upload that size of file.

RE: Horn of Africa - New scenario
I have extended the map and added more territory for the C.A.R. so they are now active and Congo regime are now inactive. also turn time is 3-4 days beginning in August 2013. more screenshots of the horn of africa later in the week
RE: Horn of Africa - New scenario
An SFType graphic at the needed size of 260x194 should take about 100kb if you do it in .png or as .jpg you can reach like 20kb. This enables to add more than 100-500 sf types within the 10mb. It should be enough.

Vic

RE: Horn of Africa - New scenario
Vic
for each scenario i have, I create a folder to hold that particular scenario SFT images in the Equipment folder. So for this one I have a folder named Africa which is the image for at least 3 of my scenarios' " Horn of Africa and Cote D'Ivorie and "Arab Spring" what has made this so large is that when I made the Arab Spring scenario, I added some of my middle east images into the Africa (image) folder thereby making it larger. I do save all my images into a jpeg format though so that is not the issue, just I have so many images in that one folder and it will take time for me to seperate them. I evetually will do this, but as it will be time consuming, this will be done at a later date as I just don't have the time to do so right now.
I thank you though for your suggestion which I will do. A thought though maybe will make this somewhat easier is just make a second copy of the folder and making all images there in the same size as you suggested then pasting this onto the original folder......

Using smaller sizes you will have 5-10k, and still you will have reasonable pictures. That´s what I do in my mods. I keep all SFT´s graphics below 10k.
And btw, why not to divide the scenario in two files? You can upload both of them to the community website.
RE: Horn of Africa - New scenario
If you´re interested, send me your files and I could try to edit them to decrease size.
