Naval Leader selection issue

Post by Charbroiled »

Playing DaBabes-Lite (PBEM) and I'm suddenly having an issue with selecting a leader for an Air Combat TF. The Wasp is sitting at PH and every time I try to create a AC TF, it assigns a LTC. When I go to the list to select a different leader, all I get is about 5 junior leaders with mediocre stats.

I can create a SFTF, which is comprised of the same ships (excluding the Wasp, of course) and the normal leader list will appear (Halsey, Sherman, etc.). However, I am unable to change that TF to an ACTF and import the Wasp.

I have tried creating a ACTF with only the Wasp and I get the same junior leader list.

Save enclosed.

I figured out what the issue was.

For those that are interested, the Wasp had a LTC assigned as a ship commander. The same LTC was also assigned as the TF commander. Once I changed the ship commander to a higher ranking officer, I was then able to access higher ranking officers to choose as my TF commander.

Looks like the Wasp in the one Big Babes scenario I've downloaded has a starting captain that is set to a 9999 delay. I would think this would trigger a random leader instead.

BTW, I'm hoping your captain was a LCDR because if it was an LTC then you've got some pretty weird stuff going on. I didn't think it was possible to have leaders in the wrong service assigned to units, but if you text edit fields rather than using the editor you can probably pull it off.

Actually, those weren't the stats I saw before. Those stats look pretty good for an ACTF. I still wouldn't have used one as it wouldn't be fair to my opponent.
