Hi

Are there any plans to updates the older Commander titles, with the new game engine?

I was reading the AAR. I have not played the Commander series in a while. I do not see any changes in the Game Engine. I see some very very very small bell and whistles, but nothing I can recall has changed.

But my memory is not so good anymore, could someone educate me on what is different?

Surely, other than the technical side of the new engine - it looks a lot different? [:)]

Complete newly written engine that also supports any resolution higher than 1024x600 (old one fixed at 1024x768), has complete new AI, old engine was written in Java, new in C++, runs smoother, faster and supports Sltherine`s PBEM++.

It can play ingame videos. Animations that are independent from player actions (don't freeze controls)... And it is very, very moddable/scriptable.

Basically it is a new game and has no technical bonds with previous ones...

It runs in Windows 8, so it should be no problem.

Well I'll chime in with support to the original question...I really would like to see Napoleon redone as there is really no decent HEX BASED Nappy sim out there. I have held off buying the original game because I have hope of an eventual reboot....
