Air supply

The development team behind the award-winning games Decisive Campaigns: From Warsaw To Paris and Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive year and theater of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue simulates the German drive to Stalingrad and into the Caucasus of the summer of 1942, as well as its May preludes (2nd Kharkov offensive, Operation Trappenjagd) and also the Soviet winter counter-offensive (Operation Uranus) that ended with the encirclement of 6th Army in Stalingrad and the destruction of the axis minor armies. With many improvements including the PBEM++ system, this is a release to watch for wargamers!

Air supply

Post by Micke II »

How works the supply flow coming from air ? The rule says "select a target hex for the supply" but what is he best ?
A hex with a HQ or a empty hex or a hex with a normal unit ? How this supply is dispatched between units ?

you dont have to select a unit, but it is important to select an airfield (a town) if possible.

I performed a drop of supply per air on a completely isolated german division in campaign (so without any airfield). It was working in the same manner as for Stalingrad. I didn't see any difference.

With 4 turns into the Uranus Scenario as Axis I decided to give Air Supply a try. When I select the Air Transport unit a message displays saying "Select target unit for air supply.Max 600: Target area needs 37" Whatever unit I choose this message stays the same. What exactly does "target area needs xxx" mean?

Edit: Is it possible to attach fighter escort to transport missions?

^ Air suppy goes in alone so make sure you run some fighter sweeps near your target to try and get the Russian fighters to comitt before you send in the transports.
