Overall
As I feared, the sheer number of USSR units is slwoing the northern push to a crawl at best, and most of the USSR units in the area will escape. However some will be caught, and we should be back in the LG area soon, at which time the panzers will be withdrawn, rested, refitted and reshuffled to prepare for winter. I am somewhat concerned about the south, as the USSR units there are growing too strong, and I too weak. I need to adress that situation. In the Moscow area, our infantry is doing a good job, and is pushing the USSR back one hex on average per turn. Only a small breakable pocket was formed this turn, so the USSR is now back to "gaining" APs again. The pocket is now completely destroyed.
We made 85 attacks this turn, causing 11 helds, 62 retreats, 9 routs and 3 surrenders.

Overall
Although more USSR units than I like will be able to retreat to LG, I am somewhat happy with this turn. Granted, we were unable to push very far, however we did split the southern part of the USSR northern front in two this turn. It is nothing major, but I think it will force Brad to pull back even more. I am somewhat concerned with the USSR CVs atm, and also the fact that the number of attacks we are able to launch is dropping. This turn we made a total of 75 attacks, scoring 9 helds, 49 retreats, 15 routs, 1 shatter and 1 surrender.

About your winter plans in the South, I do believe you may be thinking a little small there (for a change ). If you refit your whole force well enough, pushing into the relative void of a frontline between Orel and Kharkov isn't going to bring you the sort of success you need right now. Actually, you'd be pushing just right in the direction he doesn't care about. There's a reason why his line is thinly held there: behind this brown line, there are thousands of km² of steppe he will not contest. Even if you go past Voronezh, you'll still be in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of winter, creating a nice inverted bulge "à la Kursk" for future business. Southern line won't move an inch to prevent any sort of fall there, because well they still have Crimea as a fall-back position if it gets really serious. North of Orel, he will feel relieved to see you're just pushing everywhere but towards Moscow. Whatever happens, he knows winter will be too short for you to achieve anything beyond an encirclement of the frontline there as long as you keep him and busy, and he just needs to slow you down until spring brings a brand new ballgame.

You wanna push harder? Well, instead of hitting him where he's weak and you're strong, hit him where he's strong, but you're stronger. If the southern part south of Kharkov really bothers you, well aim for it.

I think you do have the muscle for a twin-pronged attack north through Dnepropetrovsk onto Zaporozhye and the coast (if you're pocket oriented) or towards Stalino and Rostov if you feel that magic is in the air. At the same moment, the southern pincer should blow its way into creating a thin corridor between Perekop isthmus and the enemy forces, and try to reach the Azov, while aiming at denying the enemy any sort of evacuation option from the port over there (while you set the Romanians lose in Crimea for instance). Actually, if it's winter, the icepack will deny any sort of help coming from across the Azov anyway...

His forces have advanced into the marshes. Well, it's good, they are prisoners already. Any big push on its flanks will leave the big blob one turn too late for evacuation, and instead of just getting some ground, you'll kill a lot of red forces and get some more interesting ground (I guess D town, Z town and the Stalino area do beat any sort of Voronezh trust manpower wise).

Overall
The switch of those panzer/mechs to the purple lads seems to have been unnoticed by brad, and did the trick. We secured the landbridge hex NW of Lake Pskov, and if I understand things correctly (I probably do not), the units left behind are isolated. Meeting increased resistance across the board now, and to make things even worse, the first mud has arrived. I hope this was just a fluke thing, and that we get some more turns with clear weather before the proper mud season sets in.
69 attacks gave a result of 10 helds, 43 retreats, 13 routs and 3 surrenders.

We killed off some more USSR units, but LG and Moscow will hold, there are just too damned many units on the board. Oh well, we will keep fighting, but I will not be surprised if the USSR will start counterattacking soon. We shall see.

Overall
Eliminated the 5 pocketed USSR units and pocketed 7 new ones, apart from that, our panzers reports to have been overtacken by a coloumn of snails. Only a few hexes gained here and there, and the USSR even launched two attacks on our panzers and scored two retreats. We only managed 60 attacks this turn, scoring 8 helds, 36 retreats, 13 routs and 3 surrenders.

They were pushed back onto other Pz Divs, so there was no real danger (I try to keep the weakest part of the chain at the end to avoid being curt off).

The attacks against LG will now be terminated, I am bogged down. Next turn our panzers will be pulled back, and we will leave the north to the infantry.

Overall
Well, the ammount of attacks we can mount is dropping each turn, and this turn is no different in that regard. That darned Speer better show some results soon so we can get our troops ready to fight again! Although I said I would withdraw the panzers, I have reconsidered. If they disappear now, Brad will reshuffle his troops, and I will face alot thougher resistance all along the front. So better to keep them in place for now untill mud arrives, and then let them vanish. A mere 39 attacks with a result of 7 helds, 25 retreats, 6 routs and 1 shatter is not good enough though, and Führer-morale is plummeting [;)]
