When you take the game too far...

Hey all.
A coupla days ago the police in a Norwegian town were alerted that a known arms collector was disturbing the peace in the neighbourhood. Apparently he was saluting with firearms, and some of his neighbours found it rather disturbing.

Ok so the police (who find out he's a weapons collector) figure he's been testing a large-cal pistol, or maybe one of those ol' elephant rifles.

Guess what they found?. Three .50cal Brownings, 20 assorted automatics (misc. LMGs, a .30 MMG , an AK-47, pistols etc.), various sorts of hand grenades, and one old finnish 45mm. AT-gun.


Heh well anyway, this game is absolutely awesome. Enough said

With live rounds? Don't bullets return to earth with something less than muzzle velocity, but still enouogh to really hurt someone? (I don't know enough about the
physics to speak authoritatively, but I'll bet someone in here does).

Yeah, you ought to be a police officer working south Dallas on New Years Eve. Lots of spent rounds falling around your ears.

jonhooper: I live in East Dallas, and I can vouch for that. I'm so sick and tired of being woke up on New Years Eve, by a bunch of hooligans opening up because they don't think they'll get caught. I wonder what the police would tell me if I called them and guranteed they'd have arrests on my street if they're there at midnight?

My neighborhood also has a particular anomoly. There's a five point intersection down the road a bit. It's common practice at that five-way stop, for people to try and turn in "front" of you, instead of them letting the person going straight to go by, and them turning in behind you. The number of people driving around with handicapped permits hanging from their vehicle visor may be as high as 30%. There's a siren going off within the Balch Springs/Mesquite/Dallas borders (my area), must be every 30 minutes (mostly Balch Springs police giving tickets I imagine). Bottom line is, if you have people undisciplined enough to fire off guns against the law at midnight on New Year's Eve (It's not like the news outlets don't warn peopel of it being against the law either, as you know), they'll probably be doing other things that show their lack of commitment to making the community better.

Agreed Charles, the folks we're talking about just don't care. And remember, DPD's response time on holiday nights can be as much as two hours. For emergencies that is. Not a pretty scene.
