Bombers affraid of Singapore!! WHY?

OK..I'm playing the Japanese in a PBEM game of big campaign (Quiet China). I have captured a few bases North of Singapore and based some 2E bombers there. Airfield size is 4 at each base and support ok....aviation support even or a few points short at each base, no runway damage... It has been over a week and no planes will launch against singapore. I have tried various target types (port, airfield, ground) I also have escorts based with the 2E bombers. Any clues as to why the planes will not fly to Singapore? Plenty of supply and fuel at each base.

Secondary question concerning Bataan...how do you destroy the costal guns there by air??

Bombers usually won't fly if the fighter ratios are too far against them. I'm sure someone has the numbers. Sweep Singers for a few days and knock down the CAP.

You don't destroy CD by air very well anywhere, ever. You destroy CD by going ashore and shooting the gunners. Just part of the modeling. What I wouldn't give for some napalm sometimes . . .

Bomber/escort ratio or perhaps your airfields are overstacked.

Does bomber units have commanders aggressive enough? Aggressive skill 50+ is minumum, 60+ is better.

Usually bombers are too brave. Order Singapore as a target for bomber squadrons.
