I have a sub baby-sitting the port of Darwin. I don't much expect any Allied ships to come calling but they might and I want to be ready.
I'm guessing that Jim has all that AK traffic coming from Cape Town to Colombo or Bombay or somewhere else and back but that traffic
lane is out of the way for me, I don't have very many subs that can reach that far except those on the West Coast of the US and they are
busy at the moment. So I'm thinking the only other major traffic routes in this part of the world would be originating or ending in a port on
the coast of OZ. So if I blockade all the ports w/ subs and or other ships then eventually OZ will starve and I can maybe make something
big happen here. It all depends on how well I can blockade the ports.

Task Force 51 is babysitting Port Hedland and he reports 4 Allied ships in port, two of which might just be TK's. Maybe instead of just
babysitting the port TF 51 will actually shoot at the Allied ships. Maybe if I combine all the subs I have in that hex into one TF then just
maybe it'll be a more powerful anti-ship weapon. Should I do that? Anybody have an opinion?

Resources from Makassar are finally starting to reach Bubble Drop. This is good news. The pipeline is starting to fill up between Bubble
Drop and Makassar with ships coming and going and everybody is busy carrying something. Supplies going south and resources going
north.

Um........some of the Allied ships at Diego Garcia are reportedly CM's, which as you know lay mines. So I should probably consider that
DG is mined now, or will be mined shortly. My question now is: is it safe to leave my sub there if I don't move it? Am I liable to mines if
I was in the port before it was mined? Might I sweep a mine any time now?

My neighbor: Patrick Lonigan said he was reading a book called "Flyboys" in which there was a situation in the later part of the war where
the Jap residents of Chichi-Jima were eating all the prisoners of war because they didn't have any supplies and food and etc. So I'm
adopting the policy of eating all the POW's that happen to hit the island of Chichi-Jima. Jim better be aware of that. I'll tell him in an
email.

This is me turning off the output of the oil refinery at Rangoon. I'm running really low on oil there and I'm thinking that if I turn off
production that oil will start to pile up again. When I have a safe margin I guess I'll turn it back on.

I just took a look at Rangoon just now, curious, and I found out that Rangoon has a refinery but no oil center. So in order to run the
refinery I'd have to ship in each gallon of oil by ship I guess. So I guess it's a good thing that it get turned off for now.

TF 284 was just about to land at Tarawa and unload the 38th AF dudes and I got to looking and there's already some AF dudes at
Tarawa and so I'm going to re-direct the TF to land at Ocean Island instead. There's some damaged planes there that need to be fixed.

This is TF 300. It's some of my carriers w/ their escorts. This is the condition they are in after that full-speed burst to get away from the
Allied TF chasing them. They may not be fully safe yet but they are in poor condition so I'm dropping back to mission speed and I'm
going to send them to Kwajalein to get fixed and fueled. I've set a waypoint on an AO I just happened to have in that part of the world.
I'm hoping that the Allied TF has turned to go home because I'd hate to lose a good AO right about now.

TF 309 is the mobile sub base that I sent to Shortlands and it's about to land there. I'm hoping to be able to reach to the west side of
OZ w/ my subs eventually. It'll help in the blockade that I'm trying to impose. And if I can ever capture Port Moresby I'll move the sub
base there.

TF 310 was just about to land at Bubble Drop but I'm thinking that Truk needs the fuel more than Bubble Drop does. Fuel is starting to
pile up at Bubble Drop from the refineries I've captured. I'm thinking that very little fuel needs leave the home islands anymore. Maybe
I can start to import fuel to the home islands.....that would be cool.

This is TF 524 and it's my heavy guns in the Rabaul area. I've got them headed to Port Moresby to do some looking around for the
Allied TF that did it's own bombardment some two nights ago now. Also, while they are in the area I'm thinking they might as well do some
naval bombardment of their own to try to level the playing field at PM somewhat. They aren't in the best of shape but most of the damage
to the ships isn't major so I guess we're a go for lift off.

This image of the map is taken the day after the combat. Late last night or early this morning when this combat took place the base
Gastama hadn't yet been captured and so naturally it looks changed now.

And then at Port Blair one of my subs wanders into a nest of vipers. She's lucky to have not been sunk.
