110 miles was the fastest I drove.ORIGINAL: Chickenboy
ORIGINAL: USS America
He actually did! Made great time and ran into almost no traffic on over 700 miles of interstate 95! [X(]
I imagine that driving at 90MPH on the shoulders *around* the traffic helped? [;)]
But do you know what I hate? Driving behind a pro at 100 mph+ who propably has sharp eyesight, radar warner and a trapster app on his phone - and your gas run out and you have to refuel... [:@]
I dont know how it is in Germany but in my experience the guys who drive 100+ on US highways may have a radar detector but generally have their head up their @ss as well.

Not even close. So far very warm for the season. Normally, we should've seen some snow come and go by now. Not a snowflake in sight yet though.ORIGINAL: Apollo11
Hi all,
How is weather in Sweden per?
Winter arrived?
Leo "Apollo11"
We went from 60F a couple days ago to a sleet / snow storm last night. Dropped about 45 degrees. High today will be 25F with snow and ice on the ground. Winter just came by to say "remember me?"
Low 80s in CA....just sayin...

Hmm. Looks like a nice little toy. Have to get a weapons license sometime. Nice relaxation.
You're not allowed to own weapons, Per? [X(]

Howdy guys.... boring and troubling sort of day, went shopping with the wife, watched the bank accounts go down and credit cards go up. [:(]
My next-door neighbor was taken away in an ambulance tonight, his wife said that he put his finger in the light-socket of his Kitchen stove. [X(]
He seems a bit accident prone, blew-up his barbeque in the summer; he is Canadian so I guess that explains some. [:D]

My landlord in NY blew up his (very expensive) BBQ by overindulging his chicken in vodka marinade. When he put the marinated chicken on the grill it literally caught fire. [:D]

RE: THE THREAD!!!
Got curious about the Metrolink train by my house. The price of a one-way ticket to get from here to, say, the Camarillo Outlets stores, a distance of some 40 miles, is $9.25.
Now, I'm used to this kind of nonsense from Long Island Rail, where a one-way ticket from Deer Park to Penn Station, also about 40 miles as the crow flies, off peak, will cost you $9.75. But driving from LI to the city you could easily spend 2-3 hours in traffic on the Belt or BQE, you'll still have to pay a tunnel toll unless you want to brave the longer traffic for the bridges and once you get there you can easily spend an hour looking for parking or pay $40 for it. In that context, the price of the rail ticket is well worth it.
I have no idea what justifies these rail prices in San Fernando Valley, CA when in order to get to Camarillo by car all I have to do is hop on the 118 freeway for 40 minutes. There is never any traffic, the scenery is very much enjoyable, the roads are in perfect condition and there are oodles of parking everywhere. I just dont understand it.

They think about forcing german sportsmen to store their guns at the shooting range. So they can buy a gun, but never own it.
Hunters might face the same thing.

Seems more than a little silly. One of the things I've never objected to in the US is gun ownership. My feeling is that people with a criminal intent who are looking to obtain weapons, will generally be able to obtain them despite laws. Certainly its true that unrestricted sale of ammunition which comes with gun ownership laws also aids those with criminal intent, but I also feel that lack of ammo availability would not serve as a significant-enough deterrent to these people. Somehow, I doubt that gang members, bank robbers etc. spend hundreds of hours and thousands of rounds honing their marksmanship skills. [8|]
