Entrenchment card not working ?

Entrenchment card not working ?

This card seems to have no effect. It says that entrenchment has increased when played, but the unit's entrenchment still shows the same number. Even the next turn without moving it still shows the same number.
Also, in the first scenario of the 1st panzer campaign, entrenchment of units in their starting positions don't seem to change at all, and 1 unit just stays at 0 entrenchment in the same hex as a unit with 80.

Edit: Not a bug after understanding things better, but could use some improvement as I said in my next post.

Could be a bug, in which case I'm sure Vic will respond. Just something to check though, maybe a silly question, but it is not tank units you are looking at by any chance? Tank units dont get entrenchment in the game in normal terrain.

Some units (tank brigades for example) can't dig in, entrenchment card is useless for those. They may gain some entrenchment, but only in hexes where a fortification card has been played. Note that Fortification card and Entrenchment cards are not the same.

The 0 entrenchment ones were tanks, so that explains that. I wasn't aware of that rule. After looking at the info for individual subunits I think I understand what's going on, since f.ex. trucks also don't get entrenchment while infantry in the same unit does. I only looked at the entrenchment value for the whole unit which is probabaly an average of the individual ones. So for an infantry unit it would show f.ex. 81, although the infantry subunits were at 100.

However, it shouldn't be possible to play entrenchment cards on units where it will have no effect, such as tanks or units which are at the max entrenchent value already. The message also says entrenchment has increased, although it clearly hasn't and can't. Not a big deal, since I can check more thorougly myself in the future, but it is an issue from a user friendlyness perspective.

Also, the russians did entrench tanks by digging trenches for them so only the turret was visible at Kursk f.ex. so I think it should be possible to do in some terrains.
