Default Detailed Battle Options

Having chosen to use the "Use Detailed Battles only" option for battles in several Basic games, I now find I have to uncheck this option in order to correctly play the default Basic game. However, I seem to recall that the "Use Detailed Battles only" option was checked when I first chose to view the Advanced game default options and yet now when I select the Advanced game the "Use Detailed Battles only" option is unchecked.
Has something gone wrong here, or is my memory at fault ? A search of the Forum posts suggusts it is unchecked for all three game types, but is not concisely conclusive. Can anyone confirm the correct Default status of the "Use Detailed Battles only" option for the Basic, Intermediate and ( particularly ) the Advanced game to help here ?
