Observations about the appearance of Kaga:

1) When Rord Admirar Fabertong let slip that "Kaga was ready" he wasn't bluffing.

2) Kaga is operating singly in her task force. This is odd behavior and implies either that JJ have split their carriers or the others are still in the shop.

3) Unloading at Sangi and probably Dadjangas will have to stop for a bit.

4) Night bombardment mission planned by Washington at Davao will have to wait. [:)]

5) Air drop on Cotabato can probably still go ahead but I will have to bring in reinforcements by air.

I got in trouble for flirting at the Christ...oops sorry...Holiday Party. Thing is I didn't even know I was flirting.

I have been on this planet for a loooong time and I still can't tell. How exactly do you tell when a "blonde chick" is "being nice" vs moving in on the alpha female?

"Blonde chicks" are never 'being nice' to old codgers, Cap'n. Never. Hope this helps.

And finally!

Defending force 32057 troops, 339 guns, 173 vehicles, Assault Value = 629

Allied engineers reduce fortifications to 2

Allied adjusted assault: 438

Japanese adjusted defense: 84

Allied assault odds: 5 to 1 (fort level 2)

Allied forces CAPTURE Port Hedland !!!

Combat modifiers
Defender: forts(+), disruption(-), supply(-)
Attacker:

Japanese ground losses:
3212 casualties reported
Squads: 109 destroyed, 19 disabled
Non Combat: 98 destroyed, 24 disabled
Engineers: 125 destroyed, 0 disabled
Guns lost 140 (140 destroyed, 0 disabled)
Vehicles lost 110 (110 destroyed, 0 disabled)
Units destroyed 1

Allied ground losses:
341 casualties reported
Squads: 3 destroyed, 24 disabled
Non Combat: 3 destroyed, 47 disabled
Engineers: 0 destroyed, 7 disabled
Guns lost 16 (1 destroyed, 15 disabled)
Vehicles lost 67 (7 destroyed, 60 disabled)

Assaulting units:
2/5th Armoured Regiment
637th Tank Destroyer Battalion
22nd (East African) Brigade
2/11th Armoured Car Battalion
640th Tank Destroyer Battalion
2/10th Armoured Regiment
32nd Infantry Division
2nd British Division
7th RAN Base Force
14th USN Naval Construction Battalion
2nd Medium Regiment

Defending units:
66th Infantry Group
65th Brigade
5th Division
24th Infantry Regiment
6th Guards Division
56th Engineer Regiment
30th Fld AA Gun Co
9th Field AF Construction Battalion
16th Army
9th Ind.Hvy.Art. Battalion
4th Infantry Regiment
22nd Air Flotilla
4th Ind. Engineer Regiment
2nd Ind.Art.Mortar Battalion
51st JNAF AF Unit

This means we can now refit 22nd East African Brigade and leave them as a garrison whilst 32nd ID and 2nd UK Divs are refitted for deployment elsewhere.

Two full divs of LYBs plus at least another div's worth of combat troops trapped and out of supply.

Defeated Japanese Units Retreating!

Defending units:
7th Ind.Tank Brigade

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Looks like the 7th has run out of Ronsons - they must have run out of Kool-Aid cans to use as improvised armour at last.

"The Western Australia Civil Defence Authority have announced today a large outbreak of the undead in the area of Port Hedland. These are ambulatory undead with decidedly asiatic features. They can only be killed with a penetrating wound to the brainstem and great care should be taken. The authorities advise that all dead undead be burned as the authorities are uncertain what effect the undead virus may have on local salties. The undead can best be identified by their wide based gait and exceptionally poor converstaional skills but authorities also caution against the risk of misidentifiaction particularly on Saturday night. Good afternoon. Peter J. Confabulato, ABC, Perth."

Mindanao: Using the twin ENIAC 2000 (with DOS 1.0), we predicted a LYB attack on Dadjangas. The twin ENIAC was right.

Burn all dead undead, eh? Doesn't that make them double dead? Or is that like a double negative and therefore they're alive?

Burning 'em alive, are we? One could be led to believe that you're at war with 'em or something. That's bad for business, mate. [:-]

Then they show up at 01:24 just like the ENIAC 2000 predicted. Just as predicted. It's not rearry PT boat conditions...visibility is good. ENIAC can predict the weather but we did not buy the weather modification rider.

So...here is the deal...a group of landing craft were ordered to disembark and then "disband to port". The disembarking part went OK but apparently the "Disband to Port" phase comes AFTER the "Get Blown to Smithereens Phase".

I should have just set them to another base. Should we ask for a do-over? Oh well, at least the troops got ashore. We salute the fungible! Hip, Hip, Hoorah! Evidently Myoko wasn't hurt very badry.
